Return from the Netherrealm

[Jehanne]

Jehanne stepped across the threshold of the dimensional rift just seconds before the whole thing collapsed. Fatigue apparent in her facial features as she slowly walked forward to where the Aircano holy knights and priests were located in Kari. Still holding their weakened High Priestess in her arms before falling to her knees, keeping Miracle protected before gently laying her down against the grass and looking up to the others. Even though she had just been in the Netherrealm for a couple of minutes it felt like a lifetime, and it showed across her body and in her eyes. The Knight in Training couldn't imagine the agony that Miracle was going through in silence. She looked up to any of the people around them that could help and called out to them. Meanwhile never leaving the High Priestess' side.

[Ashley]

"Miracle!"

Phebe ran to Miracle and Jehanne's side the second she saw the two come out of a portal looking weak. Concerned etched deeply in her blue eyes for both of them as she looked them over. Trying to find where it hurt more so she could begin the healing process. Naturally bringing her attention to Miracle first before Jehanne.

"Where does it hurt the most?"

The Netherrealm had been driven out of Kari but Alex and the rest of Aircano was still waiting on word from Jehanne and their High Priestess. That would change however as another dimensional rift from the Netherrealm opened up. Instinctively, Alex went for her blade but stopped when she saw it was only Jehanne carrying Miracle coming out of the portal. Phebe was the first one to make it to them followed by a crowd of Aircano soldiers forcing Alex to push through to get to the three.

"Give her some breathing room, people. Come on!"

The Aircano soldiers backed away as Alex looked over Miracle and Jehanne, now tending to Jehanne while Phebe healed the High Priestess.

"You did good, Jehanne. You did good."

It wasn't his nature to worry and for ten thousand years he had no reason to. He was a god. Lord Yahweh; the holy one. The ruler of Jherra and the kingdom of heaven. His servant spread out far and wide through the continent and even the world. Even the Arashi carried out his will. What did he have to worry about? But now all of that was gone. Those around him didn't know it but he was a mortal man once again. He could bleed, die. He was limited to the five basic human senses and though even as a mortal he was a powerful warrior and sorcerer, he was nowhere near the might he was at as a god. His worry only grew for the miracle child that stood beneath his staff for the past five years and it would only grow worse when he saw Jehanne carry Miracle out in her arms weak.

He approached the three and looked down to Miracle. Seeing the bruises on her body and the weakness in her eyes. It was a rare and painful sight. Even at the end of her battle against the Second Aspect she remained standing. Yahweh looked over to Jehanne and then turned his body around to her in full.

"Noob Saibot has been vanquished I presume."

[Miracle]

Miracle's eyes opened and they were immediately forced back to a close as the light of the suns above, the light of Emmanuel, shined down upon her as Jehanne dropped to her knees. The High Priestess could then hear the sound of voices; Phebe, Alex and of course her Heavenly Father. Her eyes opening again and the blurred vision soon clearing up allowing her to see Phebe and Lord Yahweh who stood over her now.

"Miracle! Where does it hurt the most?"

"Do not concern yourself with where. Allow the Lord to guide your hands and heal."

"Noob Saibot has been vanquished I presume."

"Yes. His soul has been purified. We will not see him ever again."

[Jehanne]

"No I didn't. I got there too late."

Said Jehanne as she slowly stood back up to her feet while Alex was looking over the wounds on her body.

"Miracle nearly died because of my inability to get there on time."

[Ashley]

Phebe knelt down by Miracle's side and raised her hands over her, a bright light emitting from her palms as it shone over the High Priestess and began healing over her wounds. When the light finally faded Phebe stood back up and lend out her hand to help Miracle up before looking over to Jehanne.

"Do you need me to heal you as well?"

Yahweh smiled. Glad to hear that the old Lin Kuei warrior, Sub-Zero, was finally put to rest after being a vengeful wraith all these years.

"You have done well, Miracle."

He then looked to the others.

"You have all done well. When Miracle and Jehanne have fully healed we will depart this place and take back Aircano as its rightful leaders."

[Miracle]

Miracle felt the relief in her body as Phebe healed her. Feeling the energy return to her body as she slowly stood up to her feet and looked at the others. Turning her attention over to Jehanne before speaking.

"Do not be so hard on yourself, Jehanne. You came for me and got me out of there safely. That's all that matters."

Miracle then looked over to her Lord and smiled brightly as she went over to his side.

"Then let's go."

"There, you see? You did good."

Alex turned away and gave Jehanne the choice to be healed or not as her attention focused on Lord Yahweh and Miracle now.

"Aren't we getting a little ahead of ourselves? This battle may be over but the Netherrealm is still merging with our world and walking back into Aircano to take it back without a game plan isn't exactly smart."

[Jehanne]

Jehanne said nothing in response to Miracle's words as she walked back over to her side, still not proud of how late she had arrived to the scene of the fight back in the Netherrealm. The Knight in Training would just have to make a mental note to run faster next time. If there's a next time. Jehanne only shook her head towards Phebe as she took back her spot by the High Priestess and waited for her next command.

Phebe frowned when Jehanne shook her head no. Though she claimed to not need healing one look at the Knight in Training made it obvious that she was in need of it. Phebe would never understand the warrior pride that kept them from accepting help but if she did not wish to be healed then there was nothing more the priestess could do as she took her place behind the others and waited for the word of her Lord and the High Priestess.

Jeho didn't even spare a glance in Alex's direction as he looked on towards that horizon where he knew Aircano to be. Seeing the city shine brighter than it ever has beneath the dual suns in the sky. Sensing that it has once again been delivered from evil by a simple glance as he stepped forward, leading the four back home.

"Have faith and you will be rewarded."
