"Thanks but I could have done something more. I should have done something more. Had I performed more thorough background checks on the people of my team maybe I could have found him out sooner. Stop him before he even had the chance to do any damage... And now I may never find him. My galaxy was big enough already without the multiple realities..."
“Maybe. Or maybe his tracks were covered well enough to the point a background check wouldn't have changed much. You can't beat yourself up and let what-ifs get to you. What happened happen and you need to move on.”

Garrus Vakarian So easy to say, yet so hard to do... I'm sorry, Commander. I know you're right but this... this is something I can't let go. Don't worry though I won't let it interfere with the mission.

“I was never afraid it would.”
Imai lowered her hand and offered a warm smile to the Rebel Turian. Hoping that in time he would be able to move on from the pain of losing his team to a traitor. Imai couldn't fault him for having trouble with it since she still hasn't gotten over what the General did to her and may never be able to. She knew it made her a hypocrite but that could be said for everyone.
“And how many times am I going to have to tell you to call me Imai?”

Garrus Vakarian At least one more time, Commander.

"At least one more time, Commander."
“I'm sure you're not just going to stop at painting our new equipment. Where are we on upgrades?”

Garrus Vakarian A lot as long as we have the resources. These tanks are highly editable enough as they are. Shields, missiles, lasers, energy beams, minds, turbo, transporters, stealth, grenades. I should be able to upgrade shields to kinetic barriers that we used on ships back in my galaxy. Ablative armor for the tanks too. I can also install a turian cannon that will produce a charge shot of energy to take out targets our regular weapons can't. It'd be expensive but worth it if you ask me. Normally I wouldn't suggest upgrading a tank with these things but these aren't normal circumstances. You could fire a nuke from this.

“Let's not give Vulture any ideas... Can't say I'm familiar with any of that though.”

Garrus Vakarian Right... I keep forgetting we're from different words. Literally. Hell of a thing to forget. Garrus Vakarian Kinetic barriers use mass effect fields projected from tiny emitters to protect the user. They were primarily used on ships and soldiers in my world. I could also adapt our armor to carry these shields too for when we're on the ground. But they can't do much for energy weapons that's where the ablative armor comes in. The ablative plating is designed to boil away when heated scattering the beams from directed energy weapons rendering it ineffectual.

“It's fine, Garrus.”

“Sounds good. How soon can you have them ready?”

Garrus Vakarian If all is peaceful? Garrus looked over to the tanks and then back at Imai. Garrus Vakarian I should have it all ready in a couple of days.

“I'll leave you to it then. Let me know if you need anything.”
Imai offered Garrus a smile and then slowly turned around and began to head out.
