Phebe placed her hands over her mouth, shaking in her boots when Yahweh raised his voice and dumbfounded by what Alex was saying. The priestess was no longer able to keep quiet as she stepped forward, eyes glued to Alex.

"How can you say such things about our Lord? Is the devil himself inside of you?"

"Step aside, Miracle. A house divided against itself cannot stand."

Jeho unsheathed his blade again and held it up over Alex's head.

"It is better to cut off a foot than allow your entire body to be cast into the fires of hell!"

With authority, Jeho swung down his blade to smite Alex where she stood.

[Miracle]

"Step aside, Miracle. A house divided against itself cannot stand. It is better to cut off a foot than allow your entire body to be cast into the fires of hell!"

"No! I need her!"

Miracle threw herself in the path of Yahweh's sword, only seconds away from being cut down by her own god.

[Alex]

Alex spun Miracle around, spinning with her and switching their positions back before releasing the High Priestess and sheathing her sword to block Yahweh by the time his weapon came down to hit her holding him in place.

"You're really starting to piss me off."

She brought up her boot and collided it into the man's chest to knock him back before looking towards the others.

"Is this the god we were raised to worship? I thought the Lord told us to turn the other cheek if someone struck us?"

[Jehanne]

Jehanne first gut-instinct was to throw herself in front of Miracle even if it meant being strike down, but Alex had beat her to it and crossed blade with the Lord herself. The Knight in Training now stood before the High Priestess, keeping her away from the fighting as her eyes looked between Alex and Yahweh.

"Now is no time for us to be fighting amongst ourselves. Any day now the Netherrealm is going to be marching down that road from Aircano to take this city. We have to work together if we want to stop it."

[Ashley]

"High Priestess..."

Phebe couldn't believe her eyes, Miracle was standing in defiance to Lord Yahweh's wishes. Not knowing what else to do the priestess put herself in-between Alex and Yahweh and brought up her staff to the warrior, her body still trembling at the shock of it all.

"D-don't... Don't you dare speak of God in such a way!"

Jeho was caught off guard by the words of the High Priestess "I need her!" and that was enough to give Alex the opening she needed to kick him away. The Lord of Aircano staggered back but managed to regain his footing and hold his ground as Phebe blocked Alex's path to him. But his eyes paid the two of them little heed as all of the Lord's focus went to Miracle. Still in shock at what she had cried out earlier.

"What is the meaning of this, Lady Miracle? Why do you stand in the way of my judgment?"

If it was anyone else Jeho would have simply smited them both, but not Miracle. No matter what he couldn't bring himself to smite Miracle. Instead he wanted to know why.

[Miracle]

"Stop fighting... STOP FIGHTING!"

Miracle screamed, her eyes glaring towards Alex and Phebe as the two opposed each other right in front of the High Priestess. They may be able to ignore Jehanne's words but they would not ignore the demand of their High Priestess.

"Put down your weapons this instance!"

"What is the meaning of this, Lady Miracle? Why do you stand in the way of my judgment?"

"Because I already lost a loved one to the devil. I can't lose another one at the hands of my own god!"

[Alex]

"Or you'll what kill me?"

Retorted Alex at the priestess' demand. Blowing it off as nothing more than an idle threat as her gaze went back to Yahweh, who's gaze was on Miracle's, who's gaze was on all of them as she demanded they lower their weapons. Alex did so and brought her blade back into her sheath but if either Phebe or Jeho went at her again she would unsheath the blade a second time in an instant and strike them down. Alex was tired of fucking around with these people.

"You don't have the gall to take a life, Phebe. To know what it's like to have a person's blood on your hands."

[Jehanne]

Of course nobody listened to her, she was only a knight in training. She shouldn't have even bothered saying anything in the first place. Jehanne hasn't reached for her weapon and wouldn't now that she knew it was Miracle's will that they didn't fight. The trainee agreed with Miracle and remained at her side as she always did. Ready to be run through with a sword or blown apart by holy magic, if she had to in order to protect the High Priestess. Even if it meant being struck down by God himself.

"I don't want to kill anyone."

It was true she hadn't kill anyone and she didn't want to start now if she could help it. Phebe heard the High Priestess' command but was unsure to lower her staff as she turned her head over to Lord Yahweh to see what he had to say. The priestess never thought in a million years that a conflict like this would see her as the only person on Yahweh's side. But if she was the only sane one left remaining in Aircano so be it.

Jeho stared into Miracle's eyes silently for what felt like an eternity. Seeing the agony that had plagued her since the lost of Solomon in Jherrazad causing him to put his sword away and motion for Phebe to stand down.

"Very well, Miracle. No life will be taken by my hand here today."

Miracle sighed in relief and held up her arms, hands pressed together like one would have when they were praying and closed her eyes as she thanked the LORD for this mercy. Lowering her hands and opening her eyes, she turned and led Alex and Jehanne away from here.

"Come. We need to help prepare for when the Netherrealm attacks this place."
