Déjà vu

[Ashley]

Once again Aircano had fallen to evil and though this time the city wasn't destroyed entirely they had lost the holy temple of God which served them for millenniums. Among the refugees forced to relocate for what felt like the hundredth time was Phebe who only just became a full fledged priestess a while back. She had done everything she could to strength their army's defense but it wasn't enough to save the town. However the citizens of Aircano endured and Kari already looked prepared to repel the demon army approaching their doorstep. While the refugees looked around uncomfortable by the sight of the tower and overwhelmed by the size and technological prowess of the city, Phebe went on ahead down the city's streets looking for any signs of the other Aircano soldiers led by High Priestess Miracle and Lord Yahweh.

[Dia]

He had been one of the people bringing up the rear of the group to watch for any enemies chasing them, but they had, for the most part, been safe throughout the journey between areas. Allona never got the chance to finish her healing, and as such, had fainted, now being carried by Kaley. Oblivion stayed in his mist form, sticking close to Dia so that none of the other refugees could sense his dark evil within. The temple elders and the three knights had already gone to join the woman from the temple, who Dia figured to be their captain, so he didn't have to worry about them. Dia opened his long range sensors and finally located Maelys nearby, somewhere in the city. He and Kaley would have to meet up with him soon enough, Allona needed to be kept safe somewhere.

Dia broke off from the group, Kaley and Oblivion following. He latched on to Maelys' signature, and set to navigating the city to find him. "Oblivion, remain at the entrance to the city in case the demon army attacks while we're looking for Maelys." The mist turned back to the front lines and hovered in midair, near one of the blockades. Dia and Kaley, Allona in tow, began searching for the leader of their team.

[Ashley]

While Phebe continued looking for her leader she found Dia, Kaley and Allona looking for theirs. Seeing them off in the distance she called to them.

"Hey!"

Picking up her pace, the priestess of Yahweh caught up to the three and looked them over seeing that Allona was currently unconscious.

"Is she all right? Do any of you need healing?"

[Maelys Knight]

[Dia]

"Hey!"

He turned back to see a woman calling out to them. But instead of answering back to her, his sensors picked up a burst wave message from HQ. After reading it, he knew where he had to go and turned to Kaley. "I have to return to Paladin HQ. Kiwi just sent a burst wave." With that, he activated the Null Generator and hovered above the crowd, jetting off towards the tower looming over the city.

[Kaley]

"Alright..."

She turned to the new woman as Dia took off.

"Is she all right? Do any of you need healing?"

"She was injured at the temple. She healed herself, but didn't have enough time to fully heal. Her brother, my leader, has the power to heal her, but I have no idea where he is, only that he's in this city..."

[Alex]

Alex wouldn't be far behind Phebe as she entered the city with the survivors of her squad, silently mourning the lost of the people back home but they couldn't allow that to slow down their step into the city. It wouldn't be long at all before the Netherrealm was knocking down their doorstep and trying to claim this city to add it to the previous three they've taken. Keeping an eye out anybody that can help them, the warrior spotted Phebe talking to somebody else and went up to her.

"Oi, we don't have time for chit chat. We need to find Jeho and Miracle."

She had an open palm to the back of the head with Jeho's name on it and she didn't want to keep God waiting.

[Ashley]

"If you do not object I would like to attempt to heal your friend."

Before she could get a response Phebe's attention would be drawn in by Alex, the captain of the squad that was left behind to defend the city, who came up to them.

"Lady Alex. I was just about to assist these kind people with their wounded."

[DC Comics]

"Lady Alex, Lady Phebe."

The two wouldn't have to search for long as Sir Jeho, Lord Yahweh in disguise, now approached the two with a smile on his face. Happy to see that they made it out of the holy city but also saddened that they were here for it meant Aircano has been lost.

"It is good to see you, though I take it I'm correct in assuming that the Netherrealm has taken Aircano?"

[Miracle]

The High Priestess wasn't far behind Lord Yahweh as he went to greet Alex and Phebe. Violet eyes growing wide at their presence, for if they were here then that could only mean one thing about her home. The demons had taken it. It was what she feared from the beginning, what she dreaded would happen again. To have Aircano returned to them only to lose it again. Miracle reached the two, a look of sorrow upon her young facial features as she spoke to confirm the thoughts already in her mind.

"Aircano?"

[Alex]

"Make it quick, we don't have all day."

Alex's eyes then diverted over to Jeho as he greeted them. The Captain was silent at first as she approached the man but then in that moment, no doubt to the shock of everyone watching who knew who he really was.

She slapped him. She slapped him right across the face.

"You're working out of a rulebook ten thousand years out of date. Wars are no longer run by charging the enemy and killing everything in sight! We were ill-equip to handle the army when they made it pass you."

When she was done with her mini-rant aimed at Yahweh the Captain turned her attention to the High Priestess.

"Taken and the holy temple was destroyed. Thanks to the help of others we were able to take out one of their generals and get the people and the elders out, so the stand wasn't a complete loss. A fact made clear by how things look here. Ranko is going to come to regret wasting time invading Aircano."

[Jehanne]

Jehanne walked along by Miracle's side and looked out ahead to see Alex, Phebe and a group of Aircano refugees had made it to the city. Of course the state of the holy city had all but been confirmed the moment they all arrived here. The Knight in Training waited to hear what they were all expecting until her eyes widened in shock at witnessing Alex slap and scold Lord Yahweh right in front of them. While she didn't consider herself a devoted follower of Yahweh, and her loyalty was more drawn to the High Priestess, that was just foolishness on her part altogether. Jehanne said nothing as she looked around to the others to see what their reaction would be to the slap. Namely Yahweh and Miracle.

[Ashley]

Phebe nodded and turned back over to Kaley, placing a hand over her friend and healing the rest of her wounds before sending them on their way. The priestess turned and greeted Lord Yahweh by kneeling down before him, her head lifting up at the sound of a slap as she looked horrified at what she was witnessing.

"Lady Alex! What are you doing? You can't do that to the Lord."

[DC Comics]

Jeho face turned at the slap by Alex, then his eyes narrowed over the warrior as he raised up his hand and smote her, bringing the hand down against her face with enough force to knock her into the ground before sheathing his blade. The tip aimed towards her throat as his eyes were like lightning.

"Thou shalt not raise thy hand against THE LORD! Nor shall thee demand anything of Him, for He is the creator of all things!"

[Miracle]

Miracle was in awe, everything else before the slap didn't even register with the High Priestess as she saw Lord Yahweh strike Alex down.

"NO!"

Miracle quickly ran over to Alex's side and hunched down in front of her in the way of Yahweh's sword. Looking up at him with pleading violet eyes.

"Forgive her. She doesn't know what she does. Please!"

[Alex]

Alex was struck and hit the ground soon after, wiping a bit of blood away from her lips and laughing at Yahweh's predictable response to her own outburst. Miracle came to her aid but Alex only shook her head and climbed back up to her feet, ready to sheath her own weapon if need be.

"I know full well what I do, High Priestess. Just because he's a god doesn't mean he's always right. Can't you see that?"

[Jehanne]

Jehanne stayed by Miracle's side even as she threw herself in front of Lord Yahweh's wrath. The knight in training would keep her own thoughts of this conflict to herself, though they weren't very favorable to God but she wasn't about to openly rebuke him. Standing to Miracle's right, Jehanne's eyes moved between Alex and Miracle, to Yahweh and back to the duo waiting to see how things further developed.
