Ansem uses the power of Darkness to attack his enemies, these can be a wide variety of things but includes:
. Attacking with energy disks
. Using the power of Darkness to create himself a shield
. Firing a bolt of lightning that travels horizontally
However Ansem mostly levitates above the ground leaving the majority of the battle to his guardian to do most of the fighting. The guardian mostly uses physical attacks as its main source of power including creating shockwaves and creating spikes from the ground made out of darkness though it is also able to latch onto an enemy as Ansem uses his powers to attack the opponent.
Ansem is also the ultimate leader of the Heartless and have absolute control over them as he can command them easily with the minor ones but other larger Heartless he may have trouble controlling but it is possible. He also has enhanced physical powers, navigate the worlds through the Corridors of Darkness, steal the hearts of other worlds and people and possess other beings if they submit to him.
He also has a final form called World of Chaos. In this form he turns into a giant Heartless warship he has a variety of weapons to choose from to completely destroy his enemies including firing lasers to protect Ansem, creating whirlwinds to, again, keep anyone away from Ansem, creating a black hole that sucks anyone before exploding damaging them and draining their magic however that is only if they are able to get pass the artilleries that are on the warship itself and shoots blue blasts of energy as other than the artilleries they are defensive measures to protect Ansem while he is inside the World of Chaos itself.
The face of the warship also has a few surprises though it is only limited to firing blasts of energy and biting people therefore it is not very useful.
Weapons:
When possessing a Keyblade wielder Ansem is able to use the Keyblade of People's Hearts which allows him to unlock a person's heart thus releasing the darkness residing within him or her.
In his World of Chaos form he is able to utilise a dual Soul Eater weapon.
History:
Ansem was once a professor who was studying about the Heartless, however in his pursuit of knowledge he gave himself to the darkness so that he may obtain that knowledge, that in turn created the Nobody Xemnas as well as the Heartless Ansem, Seeker of Darkness. But unlike other Heartless that becomes a wild monster this particular Heartless became sentient and was able to gain intelligence and human cunning thus allowing Ansem to keep his self-hood. Soon Ansem was able to control legions of Heartless and he set his sight on Kingdom Hearts, which would give him all the knowledge in the world that he desired. However in order to do that he needed the Princesses of Heart as well as the destruction of the Keyblade wielders as they were the only ones that could potentially put a stop to his plan.
Nine years after he turned into a Heartless he returned to Destiny Islands where he proceeded to destroy it much like he had destroyed the other worlds. However he was unprepared for Sora to interfere and actually escape his attack much to his dismay. However he found a new recruit in the form of Riku, he used his recent defeat to Sora in Hollow Bastion to manipulate him before completely possessing him due to the darkness in his heart. During the course of Sora’s journey he was able to obtain an artificial Keyblade of the People’s Heart using it to manipulate Maleficient and turning her into a dragon, which fought with Sora.
Ansem then fights with Sora when he is reunited with a comatose Kairi after he explains the reason for it. Although he had seemingly lost the duel it was in fact a ploy as Sora had used the Dark Keyblade and used it on himself so that he might save Kairi unknowingly opening the final keyhole, which would allow Ansem access to Kingdom Hearts. He then takes control of Riku after an internal struggle and proceeds to the End of the World, the resting place of Kingdom Hearts, but is stopped by Sora who had his humanity restored. A fight ensued and after several rounds Ansem turns his attention to Kingdom Hearts pleading with it to fill him with power so that he might destroy Sora but unknown to him the light of Kingdom Hearts would not accept the darkness within him and as a result he was completely expelled from Riku’s body allowing the boy to regain control of himself once again.
But even with his supposed destruction a piece of him remains in Riku and time and again he has attempted to make the boy fall back into darkness through words and manipulation, failing every time and eventually Riku was forced to travel with King Mickey so that Riku might find a way to be rid of Ansem forever.
Ansem was then brought to the Realm of Sleep where he accompanies the young Xehanort in confronting Riku at Notre Dame but was promptly defeated by the light in Riku’s heart and follows Xehnarot as he beat a hasty retreat. He then reappeared in World that Never Was after Riku had defeated Anti-Black Coat revealing how he was using Maleficient to collect the Princesses of Heart and that him taking over Riku’s body had been part of Master Xehanort’s plan prompting Riku to fight him and defeating him again as Ansem vanished into darkness.
He reappeared in Where Nothing Gathers alongside Xemnas, Isa, Braig, young Xehanort and Master Xehanort, who reveals his plans of using 13 vessels for his heart so that he can create 13 Keyblade wielders of darkness to combat the 7 Keyblade wielders of light. As part of this plan Xehanort attempts to make Sora the 13th vessel but fails when Lea saves Sora and he was banished when Mickey’s Star Shard lands on his guardian as he, and Master Xehanort’s new army, vanished into the darkness.
However even this was not enough to stop the new army as Ansem and the new army was brought not into the darkness but into Genesis where a new world opened up countless opportunities for him as Ansem realized that here the new army would be able to engulf this world in darkness and steal all the hearts that this world possessed as a new crusade began once again.
