The Genius attempts at taking the space platform offline was successful but as she was monitoring the sudden spike in paranormal activity she would find her own computer lock up as the lights in the room went out and the doors sealed shut. Appearing on the monitor was a red transparent little girl who, solely from appearance, looked to be modeled around the same age as the Genius' appearance.
"Good evening, General."
It even sounded like a child.
"My commendations on your success in bypassing the space platform security defenses. It shows us where improvements can be made in the future. I regret to inform you however that while you were hacking our systems we were able to successfully infiltrate yours... Assuming direct control."
Knockout gas was released through the ventilation shafts in the base as the resistance would find themselves trapped within their own underground labs as Vulture PLAGUE Undead Infintry entered the base and began unloading upon resistance soldiers as VTOL stealth bombers flew over the now exposed HQ and unloaded their bombs upont he building threatening to crush the resistance underground. Provided they don't get ripped apart by lasers or eaten by the zombies first.
"Nighty night."
The monitor went blank leaving Genius locked in her room.

Olivia quickly tensed up and it was for good reason as the lights went to emergency power and the door was sealed shut. Whatever it was, it had to be Vulture but even Genius knew nothing of the avatar directly in front of her.

Olivia looked on as the gases entered the room through the vents. In the other rooms people were starting to fall to the ground, making them prime targets for the undead who entered the labs. Imai, 201 and several other soldiers however were able to reach the gas masks in time to protect themselves as they grabbed their weapons and began repelling the zombie attack.
"Nighty night."
“Cute. Gas the room with the vampire who doesn't need oxygen to breathe.”
The building shook as the stealth bombers started attacking the exposed base up above. If they stayed here they'd be crushed literally. Though already dead herself Olivia wasn't much good if her head was smashed in. Using her superhuman strength Genius was able to break through the lock door and with a 9mm pistol took out the security cameras she passed as soldiers with gas masks ran back and forth the halls to form a perimeter against the invading undead forces mowing through their ranks. As for Kragen and Garrus...
You're on your own now. |

"You're all going to die down here."
Red Queen's voice came through the speakers of the base and her appearance was visible on the many monitors throughout the labs. Her face leaned in closer each eye looking upon the resistance members, as if a child looking through a magnifying glass at a bunch of insects. The undead infantry's shields withstood the bullets being fired upon them as the auto-locks on their assault rifles triggered, and the armor piercing rounds filled the air in a matter of seconds at the rebels led by Imai.
"On the plus side, your men won't need to waste time and resources with a proper burial."

Olivia smashed one of the monitor that displayed the Red Queen's face and continued to advance to the sealed exits. The zombies weapons forced Genesis to remain in cover as the hallways were too narrowed to evade and the auto-lock on their weapons made it impossible anyway. As the zombies were ordered to reload Genius took her charge, being given cover fire by the Resistance soldiers but as she closed that gap the shields caused her to bounce back and retake behind cover before the zombies started firing again.
“We need to get pass their shields!” yelled Genius to one of the resistance men across from her.
The soldier nodded and then ordered the nearby engineer to overload the enemy's shields. Once down Olivia charged at the zombies up ahead between reloads, bursting into a flash of red light before an explosion erupted and the zombies exposed heads were sliced to bits allowing both her and the Resistance troops behind her to continue onward.
Meanwhile in the labs on the other side of Olivia's position, Imai and 201 was forced back by the shots fire from the zombie soldiers and changed their focus to evacuation as the halls around them continued to shake from the bombing going on outside. |

"My apologies, it seems with all this excitement I have forgotten to introduce myself. I am the Red Queen: fully self-aware Vulture artificial intelligence and commander of PLAGUE."When Olivia entered the next hallway a series of laser beams went off going side to side from one part of the hallway to the next leaving little room to avoid it that wasn't up or down. With each laser that was evaded the harder they became as Red Queen watched with glee. "Perhaps some music will calm your nerves."Suddenly this blasted over the speakers of the Resistance base as the next laser beam to attack Genius would take the shape of a cage wall at the last minute  Leaving no chance of escape.

The Genius had little problem evading the lasers to come, having familiarize herself with the semantics plus her small size and superior speed made it easier for her. Although the soldiers behind her was familiar with how the beams function they still found it more difficult to dodge as they were slower and bigger than Genius. One soldier was cut in half by one beam and a second lost their head to another. The music to come blasting through the speakers was just adding insult to injury but Olivia was quick to tune it out and substitute it with something more appropriate for the occasion.
“Get back!”
Genius and the surviving Resistance members were forced back into the previous hallway now out of reach from the lasers as Olivia turned around and led them back the way they came. They were going to have to find another route out of the labs if they all wished to survive this.
“What the hell is that!?” yelled Imai about the music while firing at the zombies flanking them.
“I don't know,” replied 201, “but I hate her already!” |

Red Queen began activating the experimental drones that the Resistance has been working on and causing them to turn on their masters, open firing on the scientists who were trapped in the central laboratory.

Imai and 201 would be fired upon by two gun cameras up ahead at the end of the hallway they were in forcing them right back into the swarms of undead that was choking their mobility as the base shook more violently at the above bombings.

He had been out like he was most nights. Hanging around the base it was just a bit depressing. Sometimes you lost sight of what it was you were fighting for. What you meant to protect. Maybe the same had happened to Imai. It was hard to say for sure however. It was then that he heard a strange sound coming from his com. He looked down at it and frowned. He had heard never heard that song before, but it sounded like something that was long before his time. And to be honest he wasn't a big fan of it, but that wasn't bothering him. What was bothering him was that it was being played over the com. There was something not quite right about that, but he couldn't figure out what. With that noise going on it wasn't likely he was gonna reach them like this, but he really did want to check if everything was okay. He pulled out his laptop and opened it, but as he tried a different way of contacting them he found the entire system locked down. Something was defenitely up. He turned to look in the direction of the base before his hands became a blur. He took advantage of a back door in the system he knew was there. Literally recoding firewalls and securitiy briefs as he went. Whatever had been in the system had done a number on it. It might even still in the system for all he knew, but it like all things could only do so much. After a few more seconds he finally managed to patch through the personal coms for starters, but he needed the information right now. ”Imai this is Kira. Whats going on over there? What was with that music?” he asked her still shifting through the information as he listened. A dead end. Damn! There was no other way out of the labs except through the lasers grid and that was a death trap. What in the world possessed this group to build laser security in the hallways? She would have to scold them later, provided they made it out of this alive.
“You just had to have gun cameras installed.”
“Shut up!”
They fired back at the swarms and Imai used her biotic to tear the zombies a new one before ripping down the camera guns. She would do the same thing for the laser placements down the halls before they could go off. Chances were Genius was stuck behind a death trap and they would have to get to her the hard way if they all wanted to make it out of this.
"Imai this is Kira. Whats going on over there? What was with that music?"
Imai couldn't believe her ears, someone actually manage to make it through from the outside. She was quick to grab her radio and speak into it as chances were this wouldn't last long.
“We're under attack. We need assistance now!”
Imai and 201 continued to run down the halls with the hoards still fast behind them. |

Indeed. It wouldn't be long at all for Red Queen to intercept the two's conversation. Kira would see a loading screen appear on his computer monitor and when it filled up a photograph of his Gundam that he left hidden in the city appeared.
"Is this yours?"
Already a second wave of stealth bombers were on the way, they split into groups of fives. Five going to bomb the unmanned Gundam straight to hell and another five to finish off the Resistance base. Kira had a choice to make.
The Resistance or his Gundam?
"Tick tock, Mr. Yamato."

 ______________________________________________________ Kira began writing an overide sequence of codes on his laptop, but before he could finish he saw a picture of his Gundam. The one he had brought with him. What? But if it was in the city if they did that then there was no telling what kind of damage it would do to it. He had cut her off before she even finished her second sentence shutting her out and turning it off. He was just close enough that if they sent out another squad if he hurried he should make it there before them. He rounded the corner just in time to see a vechile.
He didn't stop running and timed his jump just to land inside of it kicking the current driver out. A citizen who had just so happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Kira didn't once look back. He might be closer, but that still didn't mean it wasn't going to be close. Fortunately even if the person had looked through his files as he thought they did, they wouldn't find much useful. All the useful stuff was erased after being stored on a more secure device that he kept elsewhere. Somewhere outside the city. Outside of Vulture's range. Any signs of it had been long erased and gone.
He had only a few minutes to get there, but then again that was about the time it would take them to get there, but he couldn't just let it go. It was fueled by a nucluear reactor. If that went the damage would be the same as if someone had set a nuke off in the city. But there was no way the other person could know that. He defenitely didn't keep records of that anywhere within Vulture's reach. There was no way he was letting it's secrets fall into Vulture's hands. It had a few that he knew Vulture didn't have yet and he planned to keep it that way.
Just hold on. I'll be there soon. he thought to himself. He was fairly sure he could outrun any of the bombers on their way, but at the same time would he be able to reach the base in time? He skided to a stop just outside of the warehouse it was stored. He knew he only had moment until they arrived. And in those few moments he reached the cockpit sealing the hatch and starting everything up. Just as they arrived he brust forth from the warehouse. He couldn't see them, but the chances of them not being there were actual low, but if he didn't have to deal with them on the way back all the better. He had to make it back to the base fast. The situation at the base was worse than they thought. The tunnel leading to the underground labs were swarmed with hoards of undead and bombs were dropped from the sky threatening to collapse the area underneath. With his HKG3 assault rifle in his hand the Ex-Soldier charged and began firing at the hoard to create a path through to the base but the shields stopped the bullets dead in their tracks and they turned their weapons on him. Auto-targeting locked on and armor-piercing rounds were quick to be fired forcing Kragen behind cover. Kragen switched weapons and stayed in cover preparing for hell.

After Kragen took behind cover Garrus came in providing the Ex-Soldier with cover fire, breaking through their shields long enough to allow Kragen to blow a path through to the base, the Rebel Turian close behind to follow him in until a bomb being dropped from above forced Garrus back behind cover.
Never a dull moment.

The VTOLs didn't bother to chase after Kira when he took back his Gundum, instead they stayed on target and bombed that sector of the city eliminating several civilians and causing further structural damage. By that time at the speed in which his Gundum was going he would have been too far away to do anything but turn around and watch the chaos as more lives were lost.
Back at the base the five VTOLs appeared and unleashed more hell to the ground below, forcing Kragen and Garrus back and caring little for the undead swarm below who began pushing the two Resistance members back after the fact. Meanwhile inside the base the attack droids Red Queen hacked into intercepted Imai and 201 as she watched with glee at The Genius literally being backed into a corner held off by lasers.

The Genius wasn't about to be trapped in a dead end just to wait to be crushed by the ground above. She grabbed her laptop back where she left it and took it with her as they neared closer to the lasers again. This time hacking into the system quick enough to temporarily take the lasers offline allowing them access through the corridors before Red Queen would reactivate the lasers.
"Just hold on. I'll be there soon."
Not soon enough unfortunately. When the droids came Imai and 201 quickly ducked and allowed the fire from the droids and the undead to fire at each other, watching the droids be destroyed and some of the undead fall before continuing forward down the hall and closer to the exit of the base. |
