Goku Jr. Did as instructed, but he really didn't have much choice. Those soldier things were getting closer and he didn't want to be around when they did. Once on his back he saw he got blood all over the guy. How can there be so much?, he thought as he held on tightly. "We should hurry.."

Maricul led the two down an alleyway, still covered from sight by the pages as she went over to a secret underground passage nearby and told them both to get in. The passage led to an underground bar with dirty white walls, brown floors and a matching color ceiling. There were people over in corners making out and fondling each other inappropriately while a short scruffy looking man was behind the bar making drinks. Over in a char near the front bar was a tall and skinny individual in a brown trench coat and hat, a lighter shade of brown jeans over his legs as he stood up to greet the woman, the pages now back into the black diary she kept on her persons at all times.
“Maricul! Come over here and shake that fine ass for Riley.”
“I don't dance anymore, Riley.”
“Didn't say nothin' about no dancing.”
“There's a child present.”
Maricul stepped to the side to reveal Edward and Goku Jr. behind her.
“Damn, girl. This isn't the place for no kids.”
“We were attacked by Vulture's men, I had no choice.”
“You keep fuckin' with Vulture's shit you're gonna find yourself rekilled.”
“Bring it.”
Was all Maricul said in response as she pulled out a chair for Goku Jr. to sit in.
“Get me a doctor.”
“Doctor? All we have is some medical drugs.”
“Then get me a first-aid kit!”
Riley snapped his finger and a large man built like a brick wall pressed off the wall near Riley's position and went into the other room.
“Anyone see you come in?”
“They couldn't. We were covered by pages.”
“One of these days you're gonna have to show Riley how you do that.”
“Ah, ah. A magician never reveals their secret.”

We were safe for now, and that gave Goku Jr. a little relief. However he didn't like this place at all. It was all.... icky and dirty from what he saw, which was different from Earth's cities. He slipped from the other guys back, landing successfully on his feet. Goku looked at the guy who carried him and winced when he saw his back all slick with his blood. That all came from me?, he thought as he examined his wound.
The wound was more ripped than cut, meaning it would leave a nasty scar if it healed. The fact that it wasn't exactly a clean cut also meant it the blood would not flow as easily, and will scab up better than if it was clean. He saw that the lady that led them out of there pulled out a chair for Goku to sit, and so he did. It felt nice to rest, and only now did he realize how tired he really was. Despite how nice a nap sounded he kept awake.

ooc: I'm enjoying my beach vacation, but I managed to borrow my dad's computer for a bit; so here's a quick reply.
bic:
The guy was so light... He wasn't exactly sure what he'd been expecting, but it wasn't this. he was exhausted and weak from the battle, and he had his own injuries to see to. But those wounds seemed so minor... Especially now that the other guy was on his back, and he could feel the warm liquid soaking through his thin tank top. The fact that it wasn't hos own blood was a bit unnerving, getting covered by someone else's was fairly unpleasant. But his own comfort was irrelevant. He still wasn't quite sure why or how he'd gotten so determined to help these two, but he wasn't going to question it. He spun around and followed the woman; locking his arms, both metal and flesh, around the guy's legs to secure him. It wouldn't be good if he suddenly lost consciousness and fell off from lack of blood.
The golden eyes narrowed as they entered an alleyway. What a shady place. Was he right to trust this woman...? The fact that she'd survived that saw made it obvious she wasn't human, perhaps she was a homunculus of some sort. But if she was, it wouldn't be the first time he'd worked with one of that untrustworthy lot. On top of it all, there wasn't much choice in this matter. So without a word, he obeyed her instructions; entering the passageway, and shuddering slightly as more blood dripped down his back. He was covered in the guy's blood by now, and concern was mounting. No one could lose that blood and survive without proper medical attention. But this place... Was certainly not a hospital. He glared suspiciously as they entered what appeared to be a bar. Someone came forward to speak with the woman, revealing that her name was Maricul. And he was Riley...? Well, it didn't really matter who they were; so long as they weren't the enemy.
He felt the guy shifting on his back, and knelt down so that he could dismount with more ease. Edward was aching all over, and the smell of all the blood was really starting to mess with him. It was all too familiar... He could feel unwanted memories stirring in his head, and it was only through sheer willpower that he remained standing; straight-backed and proud; as he gazed defiantly into Riley's face with those gold hues. "No place for kids? Well that's obvious." He grunted, holding up the metal limb which now had spots of blood on it from the other guy. "I'm not much of a kid anymore. I've seen far worse than this hell-hole." He turned back toward the other guy, looking at the messy wound without much surprise. He distinctly heard the word "magician" spoken by the woman, Maricul. So... That was what she was? Maybe it was what they called alchemists here... He didn't really know, neither did he care. The amount of blood on him was enough to keep his concentration focused on the injured male. He wanted to do something, he wanted to help. But he knew nothing of healing alchemy... Feeling so helpless and useless wasn't sitting well with him.

The large man came back with a first aid kit in his hands and Maricul took it from him before going back to Goku Jr.
“Hold still.”
"No place for kids? Well that's obvious. I'm not much of a kid anymore. I've seen far worse than this hell-hole."
“So what you want, a cookie? Riley don't do handouts.”
Maricul finished tending to Goku Jr. before standing up and addressing Edwards.
“Do I need to take a look at you too?”

Edward didn't even bother to turn around and address Riley directly. That surge of annoyance brought up by the guys words would most likely have shown in his face. "I want you to not treat me like a kid. It seems like I'm more of an adult that you are in more ways than one." He snorted irritably. "At least I use proper English." What a great comeback, he thought sarcastically to himself. If he hadn't been so worn out, Riley would most likely have found a fist in his face; rather than those childish words. "And I suppose it's good that Riley don't do handouts..." He pronounced the four words scathingly. "Any food you make would probably make someone really ill, if not kill them." He gestured at the filthy bar around them. No lying there. He certainly had no intention of eating or drinking anything from here; unless he made it himself and knew exactly what was in it.
The youth took a napkin from a nearby table; hopefully, a clean one; and then leaned up against a wall. The blood all over him would smear on the said wall, but a bit more filth would make little difference here. When Maricul addressed him, he met her gaze and shook his head. In a more friendly voice than he had used with Riley, he said; "No thank you. I don't need any first aid for cuts and scrapes." He did have a long wound down his right side from being grazed by a saw, along with many other smaller injuries, but it was fairly shallow. He'd pulled back from the solider's attack just in time to avoid vital damage to his ribs or organs. His own blood would be disguised by the blood of the child he'd carried here. He had no intention of showing any sign of weakness, especially when people like that Riley fellow already viewed him as a mere kid. He started to wipe the blood from his metal arm with the napkin, his face expressionless; his gaze clear and focused.
It wasn't that blood made him squeamish, it didn't. But if any of the stuff dripped between plates and to the wiring beneath, there was no telling what would happen to the mechanical limb. Keeping that limb maintained was his top priority right now. If it was broken while he was in this world, where Winry was unavailable; he'd be next to helpless. He couldn't even perform alchemy without the arm, unless he resumed drawing transmutation circles in combat... And that took up time he would most likely not have when in a conflict. He paused in the cleaning to shoot another look of concern at the other guy, Goku. Losing as much blood as he had... It was a miracle Goku hadn't lost consciousness yet. The feeling of his blood-soaked tank top sticking to his back only reinforced up that worry.

"I want you to not treat me like a kid. It seems like I'm more of an adult that you are in more ways than one."
“Stop treating you like a kid? Riley didn't treat you like nothin'. You're the one shooting off at the mouth about not being a kid no more.”
"At least I use proper English."
“Seriously?”
Riley only laughed as he sat back down in his chair.
"And I suppose it's good that Riley don't do handouts... Any food you make would probably make someone really ill, if not kill them."
Riley looked at Maricul.
“Where do you find these people?”
"No thank you. I don't need any first aid for cuts and scrapes."
“Suit yourself.”
Maricul handed the first aid kit back to Riley's guard.
“We'll stay here until things calm down above.”

Man, this was a complete waste of time. If only he'd just staying out of that fight; he wouldn't have been involved with these people. The Riley guy was really pissing him off. Smart-mouthed, self-centered, arrogant bastard. Edward finished clearing the smears off his arm, and then tossed the bloodied napkin into what he assumed was a trash can. The bin certainly smelled like one. He wrinkled his nose as he shifted away from that corner, and put a bit of distance between himself and Maricul. He wasn't quite sure what to think of the strange woman who could handle a scythe and was apparently unaffected by chainsaw weapon things. He retained his judgment that he would rather be on her side rather than against, but that didn't mean he trusted her or her friend here.
“We'll stay here until things calm down above."
Well, it didn't seem like they had much of a choice. He himself would have already gotten up and left, had he not been exhausted to the point where he couldn't even stand up without feeling unsteady. Besides... Those people on the surface knew his face now. He wouldn't be able to pull the "just a kid" card, these people didn't seem like the type who would give a damn if they murmured a newborn baby or something; much less a kid who had already proven to be a threat. Next time he went up there, he'd need to search for a sort of disguise until he was forgotten. if ever at that. Meanwhile, he still had that one main concern to deal with... How the hell to get home.

“Sounds like all hell has broken loose up there.”
Maricul said to herself more than anything. Looking over to where a tired Goku Jr. sat she turned her attention back to Riley.
“Why don't you find a room to put him in? He shouldn't be in here.”
Riley waved his hand, motioning for his men to do it in favor of him staying in his chair. Maricul walked over to Edward but kept a reasonable distance away as she could sense the distrust coming off of him. Not that she blamed him.
“Don't let him get to you he's an asshole to everyone. How are you holding up?”

Edward watched rather cooly as the people took the injured kid away, refusing to cast his gaze upon Riley again. Seemed like he was rather lazy; and he didn't give a damn about anyone's life but his own. It was people like that who really set his blood on fire. Riley was displaying some characteristics of Colonel Mustang, just hanging around and letting others do the work; while he just sat somewhere and looked on without trying to lend a hand. It made him sick. But now wasn't the time to start picking fights; especially given his current condition.
He looked up as Maricul came toward him, and felt a twinge of surprise that she kept a respectful distance. At least someone knew how to show common courtesy. She also seemed to be genuinely concerned for his well being, and she didn't appear to care much for Riley's attitude either. That was enough for his face to soften slightly into a smile. "I'm holding up fine, thanks for the concern. I'm just tired, I am human after all..." He tilted his head slightly as he looked her over; thinking back to the way she had survived that chainsaw. Then there was also all those strange displays of power and skill in that conflict as well. "If you don't mind me asking, what are you?"

"I'm holding up fine, thanks for the concern. I'm just tired, I am human after all..."
Human. It was only two years ago when Maricul lost her humanity but it felt like centuries has passed. But she could still remember how it felt like it was yesterday. The rapid beating of the heart when you were in danger, the adrenaline pumping making you do things you never thought possible before. Being so vulnerable, so weak to everything around you. And yet if Maricul ever had a chance to go back to that she would in a heartbeat.
"If you don't mind me asking, what are you?"
“Monster. Abomination. Bitch. Slut. Parasite. Witch. Homewrecker. I guess the technical term would be vampire.”
Maricul calm expression never changed as she listed the various names she has been called in the past two years.
“But I've been called everything from hell raiser to piece of shit.”

“Monster. Abomination. Bitch. Slut. Parasite. Witch. Homewrecker. I guess the technical term would be vampire... But I've been called everything from hell raiser to piece of shit.”
Edward blinked, completely caught of guard. She was a what? He'd come across the term 'Vampire' in a few of the ancient books he'd come to read in the past. They were rather fascinating creatures, who sheltered a lust for blood that was unmatched by other beasts. His eyes flicked over to rest briefly on the chair Goku had occupied, and he became uncomfortably aware of the blood on him as well. If she was a vampire, then why wasn't she going crazy with the smell of blood? He muttered a curse under his breath, and quickly brought his hands together before touching his own ravaged clothing. Steam billowed up from his figure as the blood was separated into separate components, and the water evaporated. Bits of iron littered the ground around him when he was done, along with many other unidentified matter types which existed in blood.
Soon enough, he was free from the blood, both Goku's and his own; and he'd even managed to repair the tears in his black clothes. True, the material had been thinned by the need to stretch it in order to close the rips; but it was better than walking around with holes in his clothing. "Not sure how you managed to control yourself with all that blood around," he said wearily as he slumped against the wall again, ignoring the pain in his side from the long wound. It had stopped bleeding at least. "But I'm impressed. You can certainly fight as well... I honestly thought you'd died when that chainsaw got you..." He shuddered at that memory. She'd put herself in harm's way to defend him; he was immensely relieved that it hadn't killed her. It left him with a clear conscience.

"Not sure how you managed to control yourself with all that blood around."
“I have my ways.”
If Edward paid enough attention he could see the silver crucifix on her neck lightly burning her skin leaving a small burnt imprint of its shape on her neck where it rested.
"But I'm impressed. You can certainly fight as well... I honestly thought you'd died when that chainsaw got you..."
“I already died once. No point dying twice.”
Maricul removed her jacket, unveiling the black sleeveless shirt buttoned up at the front. Putting it on the back of a nearby empty chair before sitting down and resting her feet on the table. Pulling out a cigarette from her pocket and lighting it up before placing it between her lips.
“So what's your story? I'm guessing you didn't come for the scenery.”

He had noticed the cross on her neck; but, him being atheist, he paid it no heed. It didn't occur to him that that crucifix might have been using some power to hold back the vampire, he was simply assuming that she was doing it out of her own personal strength. As for dying twice, it took much effort for him to act disinterested. If she had died once, how had she come back to life...? If he knew that, maybe he could bring back Alphonse whenever he returned to his world... But there was no reason to ask her about what she had done to live again, she would want to know why. And he wasn't interested in explaining the situation he and his brother were in; nor speaking of that horrible mistake they'd made. He was quite relieved when Maricul went on to a different subject.
“So what's your story? I'm guessing you didn't come for the scenery.”
"No, not at all. I was simply dumped in this strange world in the plains outside the city. Apparently, I took the wrong gate back in my world. I thought there was only one... So some portal thing left me here." He had no idea what to say or do; so he simply fell silent, avoiding eye contact as he wrinkled his nose as the smell of cigaret smoke. Seriously... He didn't understand what was attractive about those disgusting things to people, all they did was cause lung cancer. But he supposed that if the vampire couldn't die; then maybe smoking wasn't as bad for her as it was to humans...

"No, not at all. I was simply dumped in this strange world in the plains outside the city. Apparently, I took the wrong gate back in my world. I thought there was only one... So some portal thing left me here."
The same old story. Edward wasn't the first person to randomly appear here by one act or another. Ever since the Downward Spiral made its appearance a year ago people started appearing all over the globe and it didn't show signs of slowing down any time soon.
“Many people share your story. The Isafaro Resistance is mostly made up of outsiders such as yourself as many of the natives in Isafaro are too afraid to stand up to the Vulture. Many also expect the mysterious man to have appeared and started killing Vulture troops to be an outsider.”
Maricul looked up and continued to hear the sound of gunshots blazing up above and people panicking.
It was going to be a long night.
