Garrus managed to get out of the blast and take behind cover just in time as the soldiers appear. While they were still focus on Gabrielle, Garrus peered around with the M-15 Vindicator raised and began to fire towards them from behind all the meanwhile hoping Kragen was okay. The rebel turian wouldn't worry too much. That guy had a lot of tricks up his sleeves.

The soldiers began firing instantly and moving to cover. Their assault rifles tore through the air at amazing speeds that shamed the old rifles that Vulture's troops were using. But these soldiers were different, they were a special forces unit that Gabriel didn't recognize even after devouring the many memories of Vultures troops.
Though the soldiers were spot on by shooting at him, his familiars and the darkness itself surrounded him protecting him from the bullets that hit him like a synthetic living armor.
He watched as the soldiers began rolling from cover to cover closing the gap and covering one another perfectly giving little to no faults in their movement forward.
"Enough."
Gabe walked to the right clicking his heels with the concrete and began firing at their cover and those that popped up. Both Garrus and his bullets did very little to their hardened armor, but it was enough to slow their movement down, it was only a matter of time before he would come on the wrong end of that chainsaw.

The team was unfamiliar to Garrus as well and judging from their weapons it looked like the Vulture was done screwing around. That firepower even put the firearms he had on his person now to shame. Taking advantage of the openings to slow down the team advance he used that time to move backward from cover to cover to stay out of range.

The first of their team came in the open. He was agile for his size moving fast enough to take Gabe off guard at first. The chainsaw revved and came arching down but Gabe moved back just in time to watch it hit the concrete and utterly destroy it.
He put the pistol to the soldiers head and fired in that time leaving a spray of blood and a body to the piles he created before. The team split one following Garrus the other on Gabe. He noticed the red dot again at his feet before moving just in time as the beam hit the ground.
More chainsaws revved into the area, "Finally, something challenging."

Garrus continued to be force back, only firing from his weapon to slow down the group advance but he knew at this rate he would be forced into a tight spot with the red dot in the air sending more of those soldiers here. He needed eyes in the sky to even the odds, or for Gabe to do something he was incapable of. Until then it was time to call in as he ducked down under cover where one wouldn't be able to see from straight above. Garrus Vakarian
This is Garrus to base, we have a problem out here. Something is firing down on us from the sky. With that message he knew that HQ would be fast at work to find out what that thing was as he put the radio away and got out of cover, continuing back to regroup to the northeast where Kragen was last known to be. |

'Release your control.'
Gabe closed his eyes, "Get out of my head!" The tendrils shot out in all directions hitting the thirteen that were around him and throwing them aside like rag dolls. Given that their armor was extremely dense, the attack did little but scoot them along. The bullets came flying again but his familiars once again began taking hits for him.
Gabe raised his guns, one left, one right. The darkness behind him shot out toward those in back while be began firing precise shots at his attackers.
Garrus would find himself running out of room to run to, there may be a lot of places to take cover, but tactically he was running out of options as the six followed lighting up his cover as they moved.

The Ex-Soldier was able to evade the soldiers who trapped him but the ones to come later was so much worse. Setting up the DSR 50 at a snipe point he followed the movement of the six soldiers coming after Garrus and aimed for the head of the one at the front, unloading the .50BMG towards his head.

No matter how much Gabe fought back, they kept coming. Before he knew what hit him a chainsaw came down on his left shoulder severing his arm. Gabe turned and put a bullet through the mans eye but another chainsaw caught him across the chest dropping him as the soldier unloaded all 60 rounds into him.
'Pathetic.'
The first soldier to take a .50 to the face dropped putting the other five into cover. However, two of the five branched off rolling from their cover while the other two raised up using their previous trajectory scanner to unload cover fire in the direction of the shot while the third gave them cover fire from Garrus.
The other two that broke away came to the back side of the building before launching two hooks into the building and repelling up.

“This is Genius to Garrus, do you read Garrus?”
Spoke The Genius through the turian's radio. She was back at the resistance HQ in front of a computer and watching the battle unfold through the security cameras Vulture had on site after hacking into Vulture's security. After some time she was able to uncover more about what was shooting at them from above and they weren't going to like it one bit.
“Patching Kragen through. All right. Vulture has a space platform 40,000 miles up. The little red dot you saw from earlier is the targeting mechanism that fires off a high-powered shot from its laser cannon or teleports 13 armed soldiers to your position. I would have sent Mr. Antilles in his X-Wing but he is currently unavailable at this time.”
While Kragen and Garrus dealt with the opposition Olivia battled with high tech security to find out more about this new unit of the General's. |

Garrus went to aim his weapon towards the two soldiers that were firing at Kragen but was forced back behind cover by the third man. That was when he heard Genius through the radio but didn't have time to answer as he kept his focus on the battle, meanwhile listening to the vampire's words through the radio as she patched a link to both him and Kragen. One down but now two were shooting at him and two more was closing in on his position. This forced the Ex-Soldier to retreat back into the building to get away from the shots being fired and switched to the Heckler & Koch G3 with the bayonet attached. Going around a corner Kragen pressed up against the wall and waited for the two soldiers to enter inside before coming around to unload on them with the assault rifle.

'Get up.'
The forces that were facing off with Gabe turned away from his corpse and moved in on where Garrus was. They split into two groups, one hunkering down on Garrus' location which was slowly getting worse by the minute as the troops fanned out. The other teamed followed the two up the side of the building in pursuit of Kragen.
The first two entered the room and got dropped, those outside the room took up position. However one of them began firing on the wall shooting through it in an attempt to cut down the unseen target.
'Get up.'

“On it. Heads up, more troops coming your way.”
The Genius went to work beginning to hack her way through the platform in space as the first Firewall blocked her path. A smirk appeared on the demon child's face as her hands became blur on the keyboard. |

The wall blasted and caused Kragen to fall to the ground but saved the Ex-Soldier from the bullets to follow that would fill the air above him. At the first opening to move Kragen sprinted forward running down the hall until rolling into one of the rooms found in the hallway.

Garrus remained hidden in the area, only firing out from under cover when there was an opening to exploit and only with the sniper rifle for increased accuracy. When cornered he took advantage of the rapid fire of the M-15 Vindicator to get out of it. This wouldn't be the first time he had to hold his own in a tight spot, the problem was this time it was Vulture's territory not his.
