Where should I...? "Bedroom. For now at least."
I'll stay until the ships are ready to sail, after that I can commit to you no longer. I cannot and do not speak for these two, nor do they speak for me. "Right, okay, that's fine I understand." Lori was out of it, words were barely registering with her right now as she ran a hand over her head. Trying to snap back into reality before those refugees got here. It wasn't working.

"As long as it takes?"
“That's what I said. You hard at hearing?”
"Enough, you two. Now isn't the time."
“Tell it to her.”
"Bedroom. For now at least."
Ayen nodded and then carried the dead queen into her royal chambers and laid her down in the bed.
Sazan came back with the survivors from the Hallowton attack, waving towards those still situated at the entrance of the castle.
“Pardon us coming through,” said Sazan as she led the survivors around Arix on the steps so they wouldn't step on him. “The rest of you coming or are you staying out here?”

A semblance of order was returning, it seemed. Sparda watched with a smile as the refugees who had fled returned, led by Sazan; though sorrowed by the fact that they had failed to save more from Vulture's warmongering, the demon could take some comfort in the great number that had been successfully protected.
Rising as the group parted ways, he looked down at the unusually introspective Arix. He descended a step, putting himself further within the Ajerian King's line of sight.
"So what's the plan, Rockstar?" he asked. "Seems to me that you and I are best positioned to preside over the building of a standing army amongst these survivors."

Arix put his hands together and leaned back laying across the steps behind him and placing his hands behind his head. He looked up at the sky as he thought, "I guess it's time to take it to the next level. I'm not entirely sure, but we need to get some swordsmen trained, I'm without the Judgment so thats out of the question."
He furrowed his brow, "I don't know jack shit about this world, so I need someone to fill me in. And I suppose I can always pass on the teachings of the sword I use in order to tip the scale a bit as well."

Sazan's voice snapped him out of his reverie. He had mapped the city three times over to make sure that nothing would be missed when he repaired the place before he returned to reality. Now that he had every nook and cranny into memory, the only thing left to do would be to sleep off the Backlash... or find a Foci Crystal. Either one would do nicely. Foci Crystals only grew in concentrated areas of psychic energy, so he had a nagging hunch that a grouping had sprouted from where he had psi-spawned those giant tentacles that attacked Vulture's blimp earlier.
That had the heaviest concentration of them all during that battle, and knowing that, the crystals would have grown quickly.
His reply was short, "In a minute." Raal wanted to see if this nagging hunch was right. He could not sense the crystals themselves because they vibrated when approached. These vibrations disrupt the natural senses and scrambles them, so detecting them from a distance would be nigh-impossible. He knew about these crystals because he had found them before, and used them.
The question was, would they even grow here due to reality ripping itself apart?

"Lori..." Yuna walked over to the princess turned queen, concerned with whether or not she would be able to address her people in this mental state. She hasn't even had the chance to grieve the lost of her mother or process any of what just happened and already she was being asked so much. "Are you sure you want to do this now?"

"I was more drawn to the we part. Make all the promises you want, Ayen, but don't speak for the rest of us."
Spoke Saturn somewhat coldly but that was merely her nature. Sugar coating has never been her strong suit and she didn't care enough to improve in that area. If people couldn't handle the truth of the matter that wasn't her problem. She was never meant to socialize in the first place.
"I'm afraid we no longer have time for Lori to change her mind. I can hear the people coming this way now."

I was more drawn to the we part. Make all the promises you want, Ayen, but don't speak for the rest of us. "Stop it. The both of you." Lori put her foot down on those two bickering before silently thanking Ayen as he left the throne room with her mother's corpse. Walking over to the front of her mother's throne she turned around to face the entrance Sazan would be leading the survivors through. She still wasn't ready to call the throne behind her hers. Right now it was still her mother's.
Lori... Are you sure you want to do this now? "I don't have a choice, Yuna. My people need me."
I'm afraid we no longer have time for Lori to change her mind. I can hear the people coming this way now. "Good. The sooner they get here the better. If the two of you could stand on either side of me for appearance sake, I would very much appreciate it."

"In a minute."
“All right.”
Sazan led the refugees into the castle and up to the throne room where Lori, Yuna and Saturn were waiting for them. Ayen reentered the room after Sazan and the refugees entered and went to stand over by Lori's side as Sazan moved over to the right of the throne room.
“They're all yours.”

Her people needed her. Yuna could definitely relate to that. The High Summoner wouldn't try to talk her out of it. If Lori was anything like she herself could be Yuna already knew no amount of talking would change her mind. When asked to stand by her side the High Summoner was more than happy to do so. Offering the queen a warm smile before standing to her right and watching as Sazan came in with the survivors from the attack. "You can do it," whispered Yuna's words of encouragement as she looked back to the civilians.

Saturn said nothing more to Ayen and took her place next to Lori. Violet eyes looking at the people who now stood in the throne. Men, women and children. All appeared to still be frightened at what had happened to them and of course no one could blame them. But the Soldier of Silence couldn't see a warrior in the house. They were all consumed by terror.

They're all yours. At that Lori looked over to her people, trying her best to put on a strong face but anyone who paid close enough attention could see it was all just a show. She was just as terrified at what awaited them as they were. If not even more so. It made her struggle to find the right words to utter. She knew she had to say something it was just what that was difficult for her to decide.
You can do it. Lori smiled at the words of encouragement. It was amazing what a little belief by someone in you could do for the self esteem as she finally managed to speak. "Thank you all for coming. I know that many of you would prefer to still be in hiding after everything that has happened. We all have lost something dear to us tonight but we can get through this together. It's clear that we can no longer afford to be passive. If we want to protect our home then we have to be willing to fight. Who here will raise up arms in the name of Hallowton?"
There was only silence from the crowd.
"Is there no one willing to fight?"

Finally, after a long silence from the gathered citizens, a man stepped forward from the front of the crowd, no older than twenty.
"I will fight, Your Majesty."
For the longest time, fear and confusion had remained written across each of their faces. They had all detested violence, believing themselves to be above it. Just now, it had been proved that their unwillingness to fight to protect themselves had no power over a neighbour who had no such compunctions. This man, the one determined face in the crowd, apparently recognised this, and looked around at them.
"She's right. No longer can we sit around and hope our example of non-violence is enough to inspire our enemies not to utterly destroy us if they so wish. We need to fight back if we're to survive."
His example started a quiet murmur amongst the rest. Was this what it had come to? Did they have what it took to follow his lead?
"I'll do it," came another voice.
"For our families and our home," added another.
"I won't let this happen to our city again," came another still.
One by one, more voices of defiance rose up amidst the throng until almost all of them were declaring their new willingness to take up arms for their people and their city. They had no intention of seeing their home burn again.

Ayen and Sazan watched as there was silence in response to Lori's words until one voice spoke out in the crowd. That single voice would be followed up by a second, a third and a fourth until finally the majority of the people in that throne room was speaking up. The turnout being far better than either Ayen or Sazan thought it would be.
“Looks like you aren't so alone after all,” whispered Ayen to Lori as he looked at the crowd of people ready to fight.

The High Summoner smiled when the people started speaking up in defiance of Isafaro, in the name of their city Hallowton. Coming together after a terrible tragedy almost destroyed them. It was a shame that it always took something tragic to occur for change like this to happen. Had they been more willing to fight before it may not have made much difference but then again, nobody would ever truly know for sure.
