Hearing a new voice, Demetrios turned to regard the arriving Empress of Jherrazad. In the midst of her stoic, matter-of-fact assessment of their predicament, he narrowed his eyes very slightly beneath his unmovingly menacing helm. The truth hurts, right?
But a particular word out of the young ruler's mouth caught his attention and he stiffened visibly, his interest piqued.
"Ajerian, you say?" he asked her, a hint of urgency underpinning his tone - put there, in a sense, by Asmodion. If he wasn't the only one in this world, he needed to find this brother of his. "What do you know about them?"

Firebrand did make it to Jherrazad, on silent wings. While the conversation was going on, the red arremer perched himself on the roof of a building, nearby and in plain view. He wasn't happy at all. That man in yellow had punctured through his skin and threw him out of his natural element. This information not only confused Firebrand, but made him furious. Not only did the yellow man make him furious, but the very nature of that army brought his blood to a boil.
It seemed the survivors were what he needed for ideas, and there they were. He still kept his distance, but his keen ears would pick up whatever they were saying. Firebrand would put his input in when the time came for it. He currently reflected on what exactly transpired in that tiny town, trying to find flaws in the army that he had seen.

Though she never got the chance to answer Kara didn't know. There were so much more to being a god that none of them knew anything about, it was a lot more complicated than anyone could have imagined. She would have had to look in the Netherrealm's life force directly to know what their weakness was and she certainly didn't have time to look into Ranko's or the army's during the fight. Thankfully Chloe would have the answers for all of them as she entered and said something that left a sour taste in Kara's mouth.
"No! Gabrielle is a dark warrior who doesn't shy away from killing people and I will not ally with anyone who uses the Arashi as a weapon. It's out of the question!" Kara couldn't believe Chloe would even suggest a thing knowing what all the Arashi has done to this world in the past year. "I don't know where you're getting your information but the future is not written in stone. We will find a way to stop this army without their help."

"Wait a minute," Utena spoke as she stepped up in front of Kara, "don't we get a say?" Utena could neither condone nor condemn the actions of Gabrielle and Miracle but in the face of everything that threatened them all surely an exception could be made for the well-being of Genesis otherwise they'd all end up dead in the end. And Chloe's omniscience was proof of that. "I mean if these people can help us shouldn't we at least consider them? None of the crimes they've committed will matter if this army wipes every single one of us out."

"Your sense of morality is as immaterial in this conflict as your petty faith in stopping the Netherrealm on your own." said the Empress coldly, paraphrasing earlier words that bounced off the walls of the Downward Spiral so many months ago. "The future may not be written in stone but one look into the Life Force and you can see an endless sea of possibilities on how you will lose this war if you do not recruit the warriors I have mentioned."
Chloe's eyes then looked over to Aminee as she expressed her confusion to what she mentioned earlier. "By rite of passage whoever defeats the ruler of the Netherrealm inherits the Netherrealm. Ranko inherited the realm from Quan Chi, and Quan Chi from Lord Hades. If Superwoman was to defeat Ranko in one on one combat..." "She'd be able to call off the army!" "Precisely but there is still the matter of the army itself to attend to while she does that." After that Chloe responded to Demetrios' question. "More than you'd be comfortable with. The Ajerian to appear in Hallowton is named Arix Himura; the King of Judgment. While you were fighting against the Netherrealm in Moon Valley he was fighting against the Crimson Vulture in Hallowton. He'd make a formidable ally against the likes of the Netherrealm. Just don't ask him any questions you don't want an honest answer to..."

"Miracle already made it clear that outsiders aren't welcome here. I don't know about the sailor scout over here, but everyone inside this castle bar Superwoman is an outsider. What makes you think Aircano would side with us?"

Arix? The Arix? If this was true, Demetrios needed to meet him! Even with this conflict aside, when the dust cleared, he and Asmodion both would kill for a chance to meet the legendary Ajerian King in the flesh.
But that would be another time. Back to the matter at hand; once again, the Ajerian found himself answering Aminee.
"Necessity," came his blunt retort. He found it frankly idiotic that such blindingly bright ideals were keeping people, especially this supposed god who had brought them here, from the obvious truth that they couldn't pick and choose their help. "You saw what that army's capable of now, and it's only going to get stronger as time passes. I doubt any city on this continent could hold it off for long on their own."
He turned to regard Superwoman, the flames of his eyes flaring up momentarily. "You seem like a smart woman. You should be able to see clear as day that we're in no position to turn down any kind of assistance. However much you might dislike the company we may have to keep, we cannot want for allies against an enemy like this or it will be the end of us."

"The answer is no!" Kara turned around and began walking away from the group. She wasn't going to budge as the others have no doubt hope she would, not this easily. It was because of these no compromising principles that she became a god in the first place and she wasn't ready to betray them now because things looked to not be on their side. "I'll speak with the Ajerian," she began while turning back around to face the group. "But I will not seek help from those who are no better than the Netherrealm!" Raising her hand into the air Superwoman disappeared in a flash of light for Hallowton.

Utena stood there in shock at how stubborn Kara was being in spite of everything they have just witnessed back in Moon Valley. How could she turn down any kind of help now that they needed it most? It wasn't as if joining forces just this one time meant they were condoning what those people did, it just meant they realize that this was more important. In the wake of the Woman of Steel leaving all Utena could do was yell out in anger and frustration towards the empty space Kara once stood in.

"Foolish." Chloe watched as Superwoman disappeared to attempt to recruit Arix before turning around and summoning one of her messengers to forward a message to the Isafaro resistance. If anyone was up to the task of tracking down the Spokesman it would be them. They would need to get on good terms with such a man anyways if they hoped to ever remove Vulture from power. "I have contacts in Isafaro who can track down the Spokesman in hopes to recruit him, but just in case I wouldn't hold my breath. I plan to visit Aircano to get Miracle myself."

When Chloe started on about all of the things that Kara just shot down a confused expression appeared on the Pop Idol's face as she looked over to the Empress. "Um, what are you talking about? Didn't you hear her she just said no."

Kara's outburst and departure caused Demetrios to groan irritably as he glared at the space where she'd just been.
"Imbecile. I pity her if she's always been so stubbornly principled."
He turned to face Empress Chloe, hearing her plans to the end of enlisting allies and nodding his agreement. Aminee's blind defence of Superwoman, however, drew the Ajerian's attention once more.
"And didn't you see what just happened to your home?!" he growled, amazed that a second person could be so stupid. "We can't afford to care what manner of company that fool thinks she's above. As we are, we won't stand a chance against the army that just drove us out of the city, and we never will unless we gather all the help we can. If the two of you are so childishly idealistic that you'd rather die having accomplished nothing than consider any potential ally who doesn't meet your moral standards, no matter how great a help they may be, then you're no use to the rest of us."
Rant over. Having made his personal pragmatism crystal-clear, Demetrios turned back towards Empress Chloe. "Now then, Your Grace. The army that overran Moon Valley is likely to advance onwards along the same route we took, which would bring them here next. Unless you've any more sources of assistance to suggest, I recommend we fall in with the defence and see if we can't keep a second city out of this Ranko's hands."

Utena would have said something but Demetrios took the floor with his rant and there was nothing more to say other than "I agree" but she didn't want to be insensitive to Aminee who was only having a hard time following all of this. "We'd like to help. Any way we can. I know neither of us are trained in combat but we'd still like to help."

Firebrand roared in revelation after looking back on what made that army so powerful. It was both that woman's blade, and that tattooed man's magic. The red arremer knew he was the fastest thing in the sky when a good gust of wind was present, and even faster when Luminous Body was active. How did they get so fast so abruptly? They were buffed. That army was being empowered while they marched!
Sure, they needed allies, but they also needed firepower too.
Having heard everything the nearby group had said, he decided to put in his two coins. Firebrand joined up with the group, his strange feet making him walk a tad funny. Hopefully, someone could translate what he was saying. His mouth couldn't form words, since he didn't have any lips. What would come out were growls, roars, and possibly snarls.
"We not only need allies, but firepower too. That tattooed man and woman with the strange blade seemed to be powering that army, making it impossible for us to win. We will need more than just a scattered few to help." He may be fresh to this new world, but the problems were still the same.

"I heard," the Empress declared dully. As if she had this conversation many times before and grew tired of repeating herself to everyone in the room. "And I will defy her. I'm a vampire, Aminee, standing in defiance of the gods is what I do. Kara is no different." Chloe said nothing when the Ajerian went on his rant and only chose to spoke when he was done. "Calm yourself, Ajerian." For anger clouds the mind and they all need to have a clear head.
"You, Sailor V and Aminee can guard the castle gate and help provide the barricade should an invading force reach the castle." Chloe agreed with Demetrios earlier recommendation. "Given your inexperience that is the perfect place for you." "Wait, I don't remember giving you my name." "You didn't have to." The numbers gaining in the room would not end as Firebrand, who she had known was watching for a while now, finally decided to appear and give his two cents. Luckily Chloe could understand him. "He says we need firepower too. And I agree. That's why Gabrielle is so important to recruit, his familiars would be able to match the army's number and power all at once."
