And Ranko kicked him in the face.

Noob Saibot wasn't just standing there staring down the Crimson Devil, in fact, he has been charging up his power in secret readying himself for the inevitable onslaught of the escaped prisoner. When she came forward with the kick she would find herself heading into a black hole produced by his power, sending her now falling through the air above and landing right onto the blade of the scythe that materialized into his hands soon after.

There was no time to stop the kick. All the Crimson Devil could do was watch her own momentum be used against her as she passed through the black hole and was released in the air, falling through it and trying to regain what little momentum she could but it was too late. The scythe of the wraith stabbed her chest and her body smashed into the ground, spine first, as she let out a loud cry of pain. Severely weakened even more so than previously, Ranko still attempted to get up to her feet and continue her fight for freedom, for survival but the second she got up to her knees...

She would be drove right back down to the ground by a stream of green magical energy to the back of her head inflicting intense amounts of pain that spread throughout her body like a terrible virus as the Lord of the Netherrealm, Quan Chi, approached the woman in the midst of her defiance and defeat by Noob Saibot. "You forget your place, Prisoner."Quan Chi intensified the energy going into the Crimson Devil, thus intensifying the pain to shatter any remaining will the devil had. To a warrior nothing was worst than having your very will and fighting spirit broken by another. To a warrior there could be no greater defeat.

Ranko cried out in pain and agony as she dropped back down to her hands and knees, suffering just to draw breath as Quan Chi's energy connected with the back of her head and spread throughout her body causing her to cough up blood. It appeared that this was the end of the line for the Crimson Devil, the former Empress of Jherrazad, after all. But just when she was about to pass out she could make out something flying to her in the distance. It was Kasul. Ranko used the last remaining surge of strength to shoot her right hand up and grab the hilt of the demon blade as a sudden rush of power flowed through her forcing out the power of Quan Chi and reviving the Crimson Devil's strength to full as within the next split second Quan Chi would be launched into the air via uppercut with the sharp edge of Kasul connecting with his body.

"What!?"Quan Chi was caught by surprise as he was launched into the air and landed on the ground a few feet away from Noob Saibot. Once on his feet the sorcerer's outstretched his arm to keep Noob Saibot back as he looked over to the Crimson Devil and the demonic soul devouring blade in her hand. "You are not meant to be here, Kasul!"His vision of the future foresaw Kasul becoming the specter's blade of Tajna Rasha. How was it able to be here to aid Ranko in its unawakened form? How was this possible?

The Crimson Devil was now on her feet back to full power and feeling better than she ever has before. The damage previously inflicted by both her fight with Scorpion and Noob Saibot was long gone and for the first time in months Ranko finally felt whole again as she moved Kasul as if it was an extension of her own body than a weapon.
"You are not meant to be here, Kasul!"
“We defied the specter,” Ranko and Kasul replied in unison. “Destiny is a lie. The future is no longer written in stone.”
The two prepared for battle against the Sorcerer.
“Your move.”

Quan Chi could only smile in reply. "The future was never written in stone."Holding out the palm of his right hand Ranko would soon feel a tug at her beloved weapon like that of a magnet being pulled to a metal surface as the sorcerer looked to take the demon blade for himself.

Ranko could feel a tug at Kasul but tightened her grip on the hilt and prevented it from being taken away as she rushed towards the Sorcerer but at the last minute before delivering a single blow, the Crimson Devil made several copies of herself surrounding Quan Chi in a circle, each copy striking the Sorcerer with a five part combo ending with a powerful enough blow to knock him to the ground.

When Ranko rushed forward she would be intercepted by a Green Flamming Skull launched by Quan Chi knocking the Crimson Devil back on her own momentum, followed up by Quan Chi sliding forward and sending a bone shattering kick to Ranko's knees.

The green flaming skull was absorbed into Kasul on reflex as the Crimson Devil moved to the side to avoid the slide kick and swung the demon blade to the back of his neck looking to behead the sorcerer.

Quan Chi vanished by the time Kasul could reach him and then reappeared behind Ranko with his hands at both sides of the Crimson Devil's head, using his magic to take control of her mind.

Kasul protected Ranko's mind from being controlled allowing the Crimson Devil to turn around and drive the demonic blade into the sorcerer's heart.

Kasul met its mark and began absorbing the essence of Quan Chi, or at the very least what they thought to be the essence of Quan Chi. When Kasul was finished Quan Chi's body faded away and all that remained was a skeleton however the real Quan Chi reappeared behind them as the ground underneath Ranko exploded, causing the Crimson Devil to lose her balance just in time to say hello to a burst of energy from his Amulet.

The ground shook and the Crimson Devil managed to keep her footing but it provided the Sorcerer's with the opening he needed to blast her back with his Amulet, but Kasul protected her mind from the rest of the attack coming through as she charged Quan Chi, dark demonic energy surrounding the blade increasing the damage it could do as she step to the side at the end of the charge and unleashed a devastating three hit combo meanwhile releasing a wave of powerful demonic energy.
