Tunnels? Lori looked over to the wreckage, back to Ayen and then back to the wreckage again. She was conflicted with what she wanted to do; stay with Ayen or flee with the children? Lori knew what her mind was telling her and this was one instance where she had to be a leader and do what was in the best interest of her people, not herself or just one man she had feelings for. Getting up to her feet Lori led the children away from the battle and followed the wreckage straight to a tunnel entrance that led out of the city.

The reality bending energy field produced by the adapted Downward Spiral technology, which protected Vulture and his men from the Waking Nightmare, now protected them from Raal's monsters but the ground troops were pushed back by Sparda's familiars giving them no choice but to teleport out of the city. Though the generators were finally destroyed Vulture still smiled down on the destruction that was inflicted upon Hallowton, not just by his own doing but by the doing of those who tried so hard to protect it from harm. Pulling his radio into his mouth he spoke to all remaining ground troops.
“This is General Vulture to any and all remaining ground troops. Pull back! I repeat, pull back! We're returning to Isafaro.”
Meanwhile down below as the order to retreat was given, Soldier A was pushed backward by the end of Saturn's polearm and Soldier B released his hold on Ayen and threw him away as the two started to walk away.
“Next time, bitches,” said Soldier A. “Next time.”
After delivering his parting words Soldier A and Soldier B teleported out of the city with the rest of the surviving ground troops. The blimp turned now heading back to Isafaro and if Rowen and Jenna weren't quick enough they'd be heading back alongside them to a very unpleasant welcoming. |

Pummeled fist after fist, a knee, a fist, a fist, a knee. The dents in his chest piece ruined his last shot which would of been used to obliterate the area, he would then use his three reserve shots to escape. But the Ajerian foe was much stronger than he was, he couldn't get his arm free no matter how hard he pulled.
His cannon hit the ground and his other arm came around trying to block, instead it got damaged as well and he was weaponless. Things didn't look so good, "Shit Louie... Sorry baby."

The familiars ended up washing over the Armored Unit, but even the shadowed souls of many lost were no match for their armor or the static generator one of the unit was wearing that held the overpowering forces of darkness at bay with pure raw holy energy.
But it was the perfect distraction he needed. "Bless your souls!" Chambers turned the corner firing both pistols in a fast barrage expending both clips, as the clips ejected he fired both shells hitting the center mass of the unit which was the man with the generator blowing him straight to hell.
The rest was history as the familiars surrounded the armored unit tearing them apart while they fought back.

With a push from his shoulder McCall would stumble back, both of Arix's swords came to his hands as they were called by their master. He took one step forward, pulled both swords left and right, the duel Ktonos hit McCall square in the chest.
His body would be mutilated, twisted, broken, and chewed up by the pressure, the armor would shatter, he would bleed out long before he would die from the actual damage done to him. It was the key to victory that Arix just developed within a small time frame.
"Not bad."
Arix stared at Vulture's retreat with a smile on his face. He contemplated chasing them down and ending this. But with the General himself being such a tricky man, he stood weary only because he didn't wish to have the entire city suddenly get blown up because he focused too much on killing one man.

"Well, that was a pain."
Rowen and Jenna were floating down from the blimp after a difficult fight with the cyborgs. They were scrap metal, but they were suffering from burns, cuts, bruises and other battle injuries.
They were safe for now. The fighting was over... |

They did it, they finally did it. The invading forces were retreating and the blimp in the sky along with them. The High Summoner flew back down to where Ayen and Saturn were and hopped off of Valefor, returning Valefor into her staff and running over to the others to find Ayen wounded on the ground. "Ayen!" Yuna knelt down at his side and placed a hand upon his cheek while she healed him with her magic. "Speak to me, Ayen. Are you all right?"

The Soldier of Silence prepared for another attack by the mystery soldier but instead he and his partner started to walk away before vanishing into midair. This led her to look up to the sky just in time to see the blimp turning back and Yuna returning on top of Valefor. She must have succeeded in eliminating the generators and the monsters that now surrounded the field were the things that were suppressed during the majority of this fight. While Yuna tended to Ayen Saturn headed off in Lori's direction.

Before Lori could even get into the tunnels she saw the creatures that moved throughout the city causing the Isafaro soldiers to run for their lives, and the blimp that was finally turning around. She made sure the kids were in the tunnels ready to go just in case as her eyes spotted Saturn fast approaching them. When she stopped Lori asked, "Is it over?"

"Ayen! Speak to me, Ayen. Are you all right?"
Ayen looked up to Yuna, the lights from up above shinning down on the High Summoner and causing a faint heavenly glow to dance around her body only enhancing her natural beauty as he smiled up at her, exhausted from all the fighting.
“God you're beautiful.”
Smoke drifted up into the night's sky from the fires that burned in the city, corpses belonging to both Vulture and Hallowton citizens covered the ground and so did stranded parts of heavy mechs and fighter's jets as the city has been torn apart in the conflict. Though many did escape through the tunnels and would be ready to return when all was clear, just as many lied on the ground and was lost at sea thanks to intervention of the Sea Witch and her servant. The Queen's body still lying underneath the pillar inside the damaged castle throne room as the blimp up above disappeared into the distance and returned to the sky. For now the battle was over.
But the war has just begun. |
