Luca's eyes came wide open, a gasp of fresh air quickly followed alongside panic as she yanked herself up from her throne in Utopia and quickly moved away from it. The sudden burst of movement drawing Carari Grey to her, bringing a hand to Luca's shoulder in an attempt, albeit a poor one, to calm her.
“Relax, my Mistress. You're perfectly safe.”
“S-soul jobs should be illegal!”
Carari blinked blankly at Luca's words as the Queen quickly readjusted herself and turned around to face the woman, that never yielding and polite smile of Luca Valentine returning to her face.
“My Mistress, are you all right?”
“I'm fine. I just won't be doing that for some time. Other than that everything has gone exactly as I have foreseen it.”
“But... the realms remain separated. I thought–”
“Never assume anything, dear. It's a good way to get killed. The time was not right for Grand Utopia. As long as both the Ghost of Legion and the Arashi remain, the time will never be right.”
“Then why try now?”
“It was necessary to ensure survival. At that point in time it always came to past that Kasul awakened and transformed into the wraith blade that Tajna Rasha wields. Chloe absorbing so much of his power into the weapon making it unusable for anyone else. But this time things were different.”
Luca walked down the throne room with Carari by her side as they talked.
“This time... Kasul chose to remain unbound.”
When they stepped out of the throne room Luca held up her hand, closing the doors via telekinesis and then using her powers to seal the entrance so no one else could enter.
“Awakening would have meant forever binding itself to Tajna. It free will would have been stripped as a result.”
“I don't understand. If Kasul always made the choice to awaken what changed this time?”
“Ranko.”
“Ranko?”
“Ranko and Kasul shared a bond. A bond that neither one of them fully understood until they were separated. So when the time came to awaken Kasul said no. He chose to return to Ranko. He chose his own fate. And through doing so spared us a gruesome demise. Now that it's known that the cycle can be broken, and events can transpired that even Tajna Rasha has not foreseen, The End can be stopped. It's only a matter of time.”
Luca turned and began walking down the hallway until Carari Grey spoke again.
“Wait a minute... If what Tajna has said was all lies, then that means the shroud is not the way to stop The End.”
The Paradox came to a stop, a wicked smirk betraying her usual kind smile but was quickly washed away before turning back around to face Carari.
“That is correct.”
“But if that's the case then–”
Carari stopped cold, the color leaving her cheeks as her eyes displayed the sickening surprise, the realization that swept over her mind as she stared into Luca's ever unyielding smile.
“Y-you knew all along that the shroud would not stop The End. And you sent her on the path to find it anyway.”
“You have quite the deductive mind, Ms. Grey. Have you ever thought of becoming a detective?”
“But why? Why wouldn't you say anything?”
“That's simple... I want Amoura to die.”
