Ever since that event in the Crystal Expanse, Amoura wouldn't dare show her face to anyone who had been present. The sin that had been committed couldn't possibly forgiven; she could have seized control over Other but she didn't. Was it cowardice? Helplessness? It's difficult to say but that should not have happened. Other had chosen to remain silent and refused to answer any questions she may have--typical.
Amoura had chosen to sit on the park bench wearing her civilian attire: leather boots, cloth tights, shorts, "half-skirt", zipped up vest and arm guards. A dark red tattoo stood out on her shoulder and part of her exposed stomach. There was no point in parading around in her armor or being armed to the teeth--especially not right now.

It took a good 30 minutes worth of debate to finally convince Solomon that she would be safe outside of the inn without guards surrounding her 24/7. After the incident back in the Crystal Expanse Solomon didn't want to allow the High Priestess out of her sights or even allow her to see the hybrid who she had only just found out name was Amoura. But Miracle would have none of that, while she would be more cautious from now on she wouldn't cut the woman from her life forever for one mistake not after she had risked her life for them all back in Aircano. The good outweighed the evil in her mind and if there was one thing the young girl has been taught how to do, it was forgive.
Miracle saw Amoura on a park bench near the egde of town and about didn't recognize her without all that armor on. She slowly approached the female as to not startle her in any way. The High Priestess could see the guilt and sadness written all over the woman's face when she got up close to her. A frown of her own grew on Miracle's lips as now she stood before Amoura trying to smile while in the hybrid's presence, showing her that after everything she was perfectly fine.
"May I join you?"

"Hm?"
Amoura turned her head to look at Miracle, frowned, swallowed and inched away from the child to give her space on the bench. It was much more than she needed but she was not willing to take a risk. She could still smell the blood, hear her scream out to her god and watched her get carried off by Solomon--the entire time, she was too weak to stop Other.
Miracle may have forgiven her but she hadn't forgiven herself.
"Why are you out here alone? Something bad may happen to you even in these safe grounds." Amoura kept her gaze away from Miracle, unable to keep eye contact.

Miracle noticed the extra space Amoura has given her on the bench and only ignored it in favor of sitting right next to the woman, showing no fear or worry about what the woman may or may not do now that they were next to each other.
"Alone? I'm never alone."
Miracle looked up to the sky watching the white fluffy clouds that blew by in the wind before citing more scripture she knew from memory.
"Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."
The High Priestess looked back to Amoura and smiled.
"Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee."

Amoura meant alone on the physical plane but Miracle's faith probably was enough to keep her protected. Breaths weren't necessary in this form but she took one in, exhaled and dropped her shoulders. Despite her comforting words, the guilt was still there as were other things. When one big thing gets her down, more decides to fall into the equation--it was frustrating.
The vampire cleared her throat and uncertainty flickered in her eyes. Still, she couldn't look at Miracle and chose to stare at the ground.
"You should go back inside where it's safe."

"The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?"
To be safe suggested that there was danger or fear of danger. Whom should she fear? What should she fear? Miracle knew Yahweh would be with her wherever she went and would never leave or forsake her. Even in the face of the Arashi he did not leave her side. Even when she acted without thought and slowed the will of God he never forsake her and forgave her for her mistake. If only everyone was as willing to forgive as he, either someone else or their own self. Miracle took note of how Amoura avoided eye contact.
"I forgive you, Amoura."

Those words gave the guilt-laden vampire some relief but it did nothing to ease her troubled mind. What if Other succeeds in taking over again and kills Miracle? Perish the thought but a small urge was still lingering in her from when she was in control. The memories, the desires--they left her shivering in disgust. That wasn't the only thing tormenting her.
It was her fault the Arashi was aroused from his slumber. Had she just put up with the nightmares return, then all would still be well. So many would not have perished and the tears in the universe would not have become so out of control. It felt like the weight of the world had fallen onto her shoulders and was getting heavier with each new thing to dread over.
"Thanks."
Amoura stood and briskly walked away from the bench. Bible verses won't soothe and neither will the child. Her mind felt like a sea tossing and turning in a violent storm. The best thing to do was to seek solitude, let it out somehow without causing damage to herself or anyone, then try to mingle again.

"Can you not forgive yourself?"
Asked Miracle as she stood up from her seat and followed Amoura, not at all content with leaving her alone just yet.
"You nearly took my life from me the other day. When my eyes finally closed I thought I would never wake up and be in the presence of my Lord and Savior very soon; yet still I am able to look you in the eye and give my forgiveness. What's stopping you, Amoura?"

"No. I don't."
Amoura stopped walking away from Miracle. The child was stubborn and may just follow her continuously until she got results. Sounded like someone she once knew. Still, it wasn't a simple matter of forgiving and forgetting. That was never easy for her. The vampire snorted at her words and replied:
"A lot of things are stopping me."
As much as she admired the child for her faith, Amoura never agreed with this Yahweh's teachings and often rolled her eyes at His word. So much more could be said on this subject but she chose to refrain.
"Not everyone can be you, Miracle."
Forgiveness was natural to someone at her age but she was so innocent to the world. If she truly experienced it all at its worst, maybe, just maybe, that would end up changing.

"This I know. Individuality is funny that way but forgiveness is universal. It is often harder for one to give forgiveness than to receive it. Perhaps in time you will be able to forgive yourself for your transgression. I will pray for you until then."
Miracle had turned to walk away realizing that the Night Angel would want her privacy but then she stopped, the words of Maricul replaying in her mind as she turned back to Amoura.
"I do sincerely hope that you will stay with us. We could use you in the rebuilding of Aircano and for the struggle we no doubt will face in trying to secure the tower. I still have an audience with General Vulture and Empress Ranko to attend. I was hoping that either you or Sparda, if not both, would accompany me to that meeting."

Prayer. That word always left a bad taste in her mouth. It was sending a request to a god that rarely helped those who were in need. Amoura shook her head at Miracle's request, again refusing to look her in the eye or even in her direction.
"Unless Sparda asks, I won't be coming along. Some personal things take priority in my life."
Or prevent her from doing what must be done. It was a rough night, rough few days. Time away may help, may not. For the present she was uncertain on what to do other than think, think and think some more.

Miracle was silent as she walked over to the Night Angel and placed a hand on her arm, in her own way the High Priestess was trying to comfort the woman in a matter that didn't bring religion into it.
"Take all the time you need. If you ever just need an ear you know where to find me. Peace be with you."
With that the High Priestess would pester Amoura no further. Just like it was best to let a man come to God himself it was best to let someone be alone when they wanted to be alone with their thoughts. Miracle would ask no more from Amoura than needed. The child gave her a wave and then walked away, tracking back to the inn. She had a nation to rebuild from the ground up and much planning was required.
