History: Ninetails was the ruler of Oni island. The Dark master Yami had promised him to be lord of Ryoshima Coast. However, when Ninetails threatened the Dragonian race, King Wada used the Dragon Orb to harness the powers of the Water Dragon and rose to face him. During this battle, the Ninetails was gravely wounded and forced to retreated. Weakened, Ninetails was left no choice other than to kill and impersonate priestess Rao of Ankoku Temple to enter Sei'an City and get close to Queen Himiko in order to kill her before she could find the location of Oni Island, which in turn would threaten its very plans considering Okami Amaterasu would more than likely find its location.
After a fierce battle with Amaterasu, Yami quickly consumed and stole the Ninetails before vanishing. By Yami's will, Ninetails was granted the gift of life once again.
