Meeting with a Monster (Raal)

[Raal]

"Die."

His grin remained, "When my youngest brother is dead, I will continue my rampage. Everything will return to the Void. If you so desire, you can join me on this invasion."

He started to move, pushing himself off of the tower to fall straight down, and land on his feet. It seemed he had caused a minor earthquake upon landing since he was so damn heavy. He said his name, again, just to amuse, "I am Oouxxi, but many call me Nihil."

Even she would eventually fall under his massive feet. Everything will. It is inevitable. It is also eventual. Muhahahahah.

[Moon]

Moon shifted in the hollow she had tucked herself into. "If your brother is such a pain why not get someone else to kill him?" she asked. "It seems that you cannot find him when you wish, why not use someone else?"

Her teeth jarred a little as Oouxxi landed and she groaned. "Could you have done that a little better?" she asked softly. "Which do you prefer? Oouxxi or Nihil?" Both names rolled off her tongue how some people spoke the names of gods.

"I don't hurt things. I'm a healer and that is it." The offer to help prickled at her, making her shove down her dark magic deeper inside her. She didn't want to think about it, she didn't even want it.

[Raal]

"ROOOAAAARR!"

Oouxxi started to walk. In what direction, he cared not. The behemoth answered her again, "You can call me whatever you want. It won't matter in the end."

He ventured away from towns and cities, not really in the mood to throw a Crystalline Pandemic their way. Oouxxi kept the grin as he walked, "I want the satisfaction of killing my brother. Nice and slow... torment him for as long as possible before he ceases to exist...."

His head turned to somewhat look at her, "The offer still stands. The road to power is right there on my shoulder."

[Moon]

Moon stroked the crystal around her gently, the swaying of Oouxxi's shoulder as he walked making her sleepy. "But you can't find your brother. How can you kill him if you can't find him."

She yawned loudly, her arms stretching out her spine as she settled back into the curve of the crystal. "I wish I still had my magic. I could make this more comfortable. I don't need more power. The moon and all the water in this world lend me their strength."

Her head popped out of Oouxxi's shoulder a little to look at him. Wondering what he had looked like before. She had sensed, as the globe surrounded her, that the change wasn't natural, and some part of her wanted to find out what had happened, the other, the frightened little girl, wanted to run and never go near him again.

[Raal]

"I care not."

"I'll find him eventually. Prey on his natural pattern of thinking, then I have him right where I want him."

This woman was strange. Here they were, having a conversation like talking about the weather. Let her keep talking about whatever she wanted. He'd eventually get rid of her, like all of the others. He had rock-solid patience and a will made of metal. Oouxxi stopped walking, staring at her with a passive eye. He answered yet again, "Yet you lack the ability to defend yourself. Funny."

Twisted bastard.

[Moon]

A frown graced Moon's features and she sniffed. "I choose not to harm people. It doesn't mean that I cannot defend myself. I can kill with a single touch. Or I would be able to if I weren't sitting here."

She looked back at him, letting a soft sigh leave her lips. "You talk too loud, can't you turn down the volume? Or talk to me in my head? I'm starting to get a headache." She rubbed her forehead, sighing again.

[Raal]

"Nuisances!"

She was a strange one. She was also beginning to become a pest. What good was she if she continued to decline his offer? If she could kill people with only a touch, then why not do it? Heal allies, kill enemies. Simple concept. Too bad it was lost on her.

Hell, it's how he was taught. Slaughter everything.

He started walking again, tilting the shoulder that Moon sat on slightly more downward. There was his response to her whining. If she didn't like it, she could just fly away, put up with it, or die. Either one was good with him.

[Moon]

Leaning out of the bed she had claimed for herself, Moon wrapped her arms around Oouxxi's crystal. "Nihil, if I sleep, will you make sure I don't fall off?"

Her cheek was pressed to the smooth expanse of the crystal and it felt cool against her skin. Fingertips stroked the surface like it was the strings of a harp, tiny sparks of her moonlight dancing through her fingertips. It wasn't magic, the moonlight in her loved to join to crystals, seemingly tucking magic away from when she needed it most. Moon didn't mind, it let her feel almost human when it had been drained from her.

"Sitting here is making me so tired..."

[Raal]

"Hell yes."

Oouxxi just gave a low rumble in response. It was the equivalent of a growl-grunt combo, but it was too deep to be even called that. He acknowledged her presence, but didn't do shit about it. He didn't care, really. Do what she wanted. He started walking again.

His mind was buzzing with malicious, nefarious thoughts, and he was enjoying every second of it.

[Moon]

She gave a short huff and settled into her hole again, curling up and jamming her shoulders so that she wouldn't slip out when Oouxxi moved. She thought about her mother, and what the woman would do if she knew Moon was hanging onto a monster.

It wasn't that Moon wanted to change his mind, it was that she hadn't felt safe for such a long time, a feeling only the very powerful or extremely large created in her anymore.

The little woman slipped into sleep, a soft noise of fear leaving her, as she felt the weight of evil pressing down on her. Her fingers clawed at the crystal around her, not making so much as a mark on the surface.

[Raal]

"Bah. Incompetent."

He didn't bother to stop walking, or stop thinking, just for her sake. Oouxxi thought about what kind of torments he could put his baby brother under. Perhaps a good old fashioned bone-crushing squeezing? Maybe a bath under the Breath of Nihil? Toss him around like a doll and watch his weak body flop around like a fish on land? Smack him like a fly? His mind continued to wander down this path, getting darker and more grisly the more he thought about it. It put a smile on his rocky face. Oh how it amused him so.

It would only be even more fun if he could actually catch him.

[Moon]

Moon tossed in her sleep, her eyes snapping open as she fell out of her hollow. She blinked and looked around, not sure where they were. She could probably fly up out of Oouxxi's influence to find out but the monster would probably disappear and take her new bed with it.

"Nihil. Where are we?" she asked politely, sitting calmly on his shoulder now, her wings shifting to keep herself balanced. She stroked his skin softly, feeling the cracks of long healed scars in his thick hide.

[Raal]

"Not likely to happen."

Oouxxi just grunted, "Nowhere in particular. You still here?"

She dared to shake him out of his thoughts. Ah well, it was fun while it lasted. His rock-like hide was indeed cracked like a lava bed, a white glow leaking through the cracks. The glow was only for show, a resulting effect of dealing with Null crystals, of all things. His skin no longer scarred as much, but rather chipped instead. She was in one of the places where scarring still occured, but was extremely rare.

He felt her touching his hide, but again, he cared not.

[Moon]

"Yeah I'm still here Nihil. But not for much longer. I think I should find the moon and get back to where I was going. Thank you for carrying me this far though." Moon walked across his shoulder, her wings carrying her into the air as she got closer. She hovered and pressed a soft kiss on Oouxxi's cheek. Her wings carried her a little further from the monster, her eyes watching him. "Will I see you again Nihil? How do I call you if I see Raal?"

She felt bad about the possibility of betraying someone she had never met but she felt like she had to help Oouxxi. It was polite, after he had put up with her, even for a short amount of time.

[Raal]

"Exist? Nope."

He didn't respond to her kissing him, gaining a blank expression on his face from the action. Oouxxi did respond to the question that came later, "My name is all you need. Farewell for now."

The monster curled onto the ground, looking more like a crystal mountain than a beast. Black bolts shot upward into the sky, and in a white flicker, he disappeared. Completely disappeared.

It was like he had never existed.
