Kasey let out a cry of desperation, as she sees the flash of silver above her and is slowly lowered to the ground a couple moments later, her body wracked with sobs as she is still alive and a slave.
She blinks as he tells her that from now on, she's to be his mercenary, and slowly stiffles her tears and sobs in her surprise as he passes the energy rifle she'd seen him use a couple times over into her small hands.
She manages to keep it held up, despite it's size in comparison to her small form, holding back the urge to flinch as he grabbed her hand and pushed an odd ring onto her finger. She gasps as the ring glows and then both the ring and the rifle disappear inside her.
She watches as Grey goes back and lays down, telling her not to mess up the paint on the gun, an uncertain look on her still tearstained face. She takes a seat on the other side of the small firepit, her back pressed up against a rock and her tail curled up around her waist. She pulls the last remaining cigarette from the pack she had on her when she had first woken up in this bizarre world.
She presses the tip between her lips and lights it with a match, taking a deep drag off it, and blowing the smoke skyward as she sits there silently. She admires the constellations of stars dotting the night sky and how vastly different it was from those visible from her home world.

Grey woke up and checked the sleeping girl opposite him to make sure she hadn't shot herself. See as there was no blood or bullet holes, he relaxed a little, and lightly kicked her to wake her up. "Oi, no sleeping past daybreak. First rule." Grey said with a smirk. He grabbed out some bread and some eggs and grabbed a nearby stone; starting a fire he set the flat rock up above the fire and used a small potion to "speed up" the heating. The result being a small explosion of flame that nearly set him on fire; the rock was nice and hot though. He cracked the eggs on it, and then took out an egg flip; seemed there wasn't nothing this man didn't have in that heavy looking coat of his. He handed her some of the bread, and motioned for her to hold it out. After flipping the egg he placed it on her bread and sighed. "If you're going to be a mercenary, first things first is you need to eat properly. Else you stay weak like you are." He said, smirking.
He ate his egg and bread as well, and seemed to finish it off in a matter of seconds. He then wiped his mouth and grinned, pleased with himself it seemed.

Kasey stirred as she felt something lightly hit her leg and she cracked her eyes open to see Grey standing there. She gives a short nod in response to his question. She rises wordlessly, her tail unfurling from around her waist, and rising up into the air behind her, waving lightly in the wind as she walks forward.
She takes the plate of food that Grey hands to her a couple minutes later and begins to consume the contents hungrily, her slightly raised status in this world putting her in more of a relaxed mood than her depression that she'd fallen into when she found she would never again be able to pass as a normal human.
"This is good." She compliments softly, her eyes raising slightly to meet Grey's from where he sits.

Grey didn't look at her, and shrugged. Looking to the town beyond he sighed, and brought up a point. "Remember, in town your my girlfriend. And since we are getting close, you'd better do a good job of acting the part. You might even get money to spend on yourself if you're good enough. After all, that's what mercs get paid when they do a job right."Grey said whimsically. he nodded at nothing in particular and sighed slightly as he stared up at the sun now rising. Standing up he motioned for her to follow her into town, and as they got toward the middle, Grey could only imagine the young woman's delight when he pulled out a small purse of gold and placed it in her hands.
"Spend it wisely, and make sure to get yourself some more to eat. Some fruit would be good. And some travelling clothes too. Or something tougher to wear under that dress. " He said, and he told her to meet at the city hall when she was finished or nearing nightfall. He also said that she should go to the bank first to get the gold transferred into the more tangible currency here. He was then off, towards a small weapons shop it seemed and he left the young woman to her devices.
