“Not much else. I just need 201 back here to help with the preparations. Thanks to recent recruiting sessions we should be able to give you all aerial support if it comes to it. Meeting adjourned.”
"What do you mean? What kind of bad things?"
“It's a long story, kid. One I don't have time for right now unless you feel up to staying or coming back after all. Just make sure you aren't followed.”
"You're kidding."
“Afraid not. Just walk forward and don't flinch.”
"201, what in the world are you doing all the way out here?"
Busted. 201 turned her head to see the Pop Idol herself was sent to find out where she was.
"Just letting him out for some fresh air I presume."
“You could say that. I'm escorting the kid out. He doesn't want to stay here and he doesn't have to. I'll deal with Imai myself so you can run along. The meeting has no doubt already adjourned by now after everything that's happened.” |

Kira followed along silently. Regardless of what Animee, or any of the others, thought of him after what had just happened. Kira would offer no apology even after things evened out. However it certainly didn’t help the doubts he was already feeling towards The Resistance. What was it that drove Imai to act like she did? Kira had never agreed with Rau, but he had said one thing that had stuck with him. People can only know what they’ve experienced, but it was more than that. People weren’t born into this world as a soldier. They could learn grow and hope. Even those that had never experienced such a thing. People truly didn’t want to fight. At least he believed so. He truly believed Imai meant well, but the way she went about trying to show that wasn’t as good as it could have been. He slowly shook his head at Animee’s question. So it seemed she still hadn’t made the connection. ”In other words shes doing what should’ve been done in the first place.” he said with a shrug. He turned to Red. ”Try not to get caught out there. Some of the people would rather shot first ask questions later.” he warned him. He hoped Red wouldn’t hold all this against him. "She's letting me go!"
Red stated plainly.
"Got a problem with that?"
The boy didn't care what Aminee's answer was. If she thought he was going to allow himself to be trapped here after being brought this close to the exit of the base by 201 she had another thing coming. Luckily 201 didn't back down in her intent to let him go and then that Kira fella joined them. At his shoot first ask questions later comment Red could only snort.
"I already figured that out."
He of course was referring to Kragen and Garrus. Turning back to 201, Red nodded to her.
"Thanks. I'll be back."
And with that, Red walked right on through the wall in front of them and left the Isafaro resistance base.

"No. Not at all. I just thought... Never mind." Open mouth, insert foot. Aminee didn't mean to come off the way she did there but the damage was already done and the boy was on the way out but it sounded like this would not be the last they've heard of him. Looking over to 201, Aminee asked, "Is he coming back for the device we're getting him or did you talk him into coming back for a different reason?"

201 waved and watched as Red walked through the wall and headed on out to the city on his own. Having faith that the boy, while he didn't look it, was more than capable of handling himself.
"Is he coming back for the device we're getting him or did you talk him into coming back for a different reason?"
“A little bit of both actually.”
201 turned to face Aminee and Kira.
“I take it Imai wants to see me?” |

"What did you say to him?" Aminee's question would be put on hold however as 201 asked if she and Kira was here because of Imai. The Pop Idol nodded. "I believe she's still in her office."

201 lightly placed her hand atop Aminee's head and patted it, smiling brightly at the woman before bringing her hand back down to her side and heading back to the old grouch's office. She didn't regret what she did but she didn't commend herself for it either. This resistance had a set of ground rules when it first got started that Imai asked her to enforced, even to her. 201 wondered if Imai still remembered that because 201 never forgot. Thinking nothing more on the child, the Captain focus on the job ahead as she entered into Imai's office to hear her bitch and moan. Like always. |
