Personality: Ariel is a free spirit, rebellious, friendly and a teenager with a big heart. Once she makes a friend she tries to stay that way with them and will go out of her way to cheer them up when they are down or help them if she's needed. The girl is naive to the world's behaviors, having grown up under the sea and has very childish tendencies. Possibilities of danger don't stop her when her mind is dead set on a goal. Her heart is currently captured by a human prince named Eric but sadly lost track of him when her home planet was destroyed. Ariel refuses to lose hope and is determined to find her one true love until the end.
Special Abilities: Ariel only has one ability that she somehow obtained while she was escaping into a portal with her family. After she passed through, she can obtain legs only if she's completely dry. The moment ocean or sea water touches her legs or feet she gets her fin back. For the most part, almost any kind of water can bring her fin back but it varies.
Weapons: None. The girl is completely defenseless.

Ariel was born to King Triton and Queen Athena in the kingdom of Atlantica as the youngest of six daughters. Unlike the rest of her siblings, she kept most of her mother's features and that made her father overly protective; especially after Athena's tragic demise. While everyone was on the surface enjoying everything, pirates stole their instruments and Athena left a music box behind her husband gave her. When she went to grab it, she perished when the ship collided with her.
Music was banned from the kingdom and Ariel grew up without song. The mermaid befriended a Flounder who was one day making music and this instantly got her attention. Ariel followed her future friend to a secret club where everyone, including Sebastian, were submerged in the world of music. Ariel and her sisters all joined in, enjoying what had been ruthlessly ripped from them as children.
Triton found out. Ariel ran away from home and found her mother's music box. There, she remembered everything that happened with her mother. It took quite the struggle with a troublesome adversary but music finally returned to the kingdom, in fact, it became a grand part of it! The daughters of Triton became quite the attraction with their performances.
Problem is Ariel obtained a new obsession: the human world. Ever since exploring her first ship wreck she couldn't get enough of their trinkets and horded her treasures in a grotto. Fortunately it hadn't been found but a problem had arisen: strange, new creatures were flooding into her world and raising hell.
It was then her family decided to trek through the portal and just in time: their entire planet was destroyed. For some reason, ever since she passed through, she can change between human and mermaid.
