They did it. It worked. Chloe could hardly believe it a plan that they had put into action actually worked and the world was saved but then the vampiress caught wind of something in the sky growing smaller due to the distance it was traveling. Chloe held up her arm to shield herself from the harmful rays of the suns and when her advanced eyesight zoomed in on it she could see it was the Omega Beams heading for.... "Oh my Goddess! That thing up there is heading for the suns!" Chloe didn't even want to think of what would happen if those beams hit the suns. Looking up to Sparda, Chloe shouted as loud as she could so the Dark Knight could hear her. "Sparda, the beams! You have to stop the beams!" Chloe looked over to Argus. "Demons can space travel, right?"

It seemed every time Aminee drifted closer into the cold embrace of death something on the other side always pulled her back to life and now was no different. Perhaps the Pop Idol truly did have someone above watching over her well-being on the planet. Feeling the tendril grab her, Aminee eyes came wide open in time to see the staff within arm reach and she wasted no time in grabbing it as death was not a man she wanted to meet just yet.
Then a miracle! Aminee feet plainly returned to the ground feeling no force trying to yank it out into the air. The Pop Idol slowly looked up to see that there was no longer a dimensional rift and that the only thing in the air was blue skies and white fluffy clouds beneath the dual rays of the suns. Tears of joy overtook Aminee as she released her hold on the staff and embraced the ground, kissing the dirt and repeatedly saying, "Thank you!" before looking up to see something flying away from them in the distance. The Omega Beams. "What's that?"

Darkseid's body vanished; a mere illusion, it turned out, leaving Sparda alone in the midst of the rift. But his distraction had worked, and the efforts of the others were dragging it shut once more... Through his screams of pain and fury, however, Darkseid had one more card to play.
For a moment, Sparda could only watch as this colossal Omega Beam rocketed upwards - towards the sun. He looked over his shoulder at Chloe for the briefest second, an odd combination of worry and resolve written across his face, then turned his eyes skyward again.
A whole different force threatened life on Genesis now, and it was up to him to put it to a stop. He unfurled his mighty wings, tightened his grip upon his sword - and with a shockwave strong enough to blow the others off their feet, he was gone, soaring after the Omega Beam, hurling himself through portal after portal to gain on it in this fastest of races against time.
It had managed to reach low orbit by the time the demon caught up, such was its great speed. The Dark Knight spiralled around it, beginning to pull out in front, and cast his eyes downward for a fleeting moment at the planet beneath him. At this altitude, its curvature was visible to him, as were the many other continents and bodies of water that surrounded Jherra. So strange, he allowed himself to think for a moment, that so much had happened on so small a span of land compared to the rest of Genesis.
If he didn't act fast, though, there'd be nothing left of it. The demon just kept flying, blade at the ready, until he'd gained enough distance ahead of the mighty Omega Beam to be able to make his move... And his move was simply to throw himself in front of it. Just as the searing beam of energy bore down upon him, the Dark Knight gave a roar and swung his sword, exerting the deepest recesses of his power to bring this threat to an end...
Back on the surface, the rift closed and Darkseid banished in the wake of his last-ditch attack, the others had been left to simply watch. Above them, just about visible in the uppermost heights of Genesis' atmosphere, there came a great flash of crimson light. |

"Y-Your welcome." His cheeks flushed a light pink from all the gratitude, and much to his relief the vacuuming in the air was beginning to weaken. Gravity resumed its natural course and all three touched the ground, safe from the horrible rift that already claimed many lives. The mage expelled a sigh of relief, and sat down next to the staff, exhausted from the whole ordeal. Only when the Pop Idol mentioned the beams did he bother tilting his head back to watch them soar to the sky. "That? I don't even know. Is this world always in so much peril? Everywhere I go something is always going down." And his arm. By the Light, his arm ached so much yet he wasn't sure if it would be wise to waste a healing spell on himself. Who else could be injured out there?

"Uh..." As Sparda raced after the beams, Argus couldn't bring himself to answer that question because of one thing: he didn't know. "I'm not even sure. Our physical bodies would be unable to handle the vacuum of space unless we find a way to keep a shield around us, and that could be taxing even for me. Sparda knows more about his abilities so I think he'll be fine."
Then the flash of light appeared.
"Sparda!" That idiot! Why did he have to go and jump in the way? Argus frantically searched the sky for signs of the Knight. Did he make it? |

Utena couldn't believe it. It was over. It was finally over. She thought for certain that they were going to die but once again they managed to all cheat death and live to fight another day. Utena released her grip on the boy and straightened herself up, offering him a look of gratitude and smiling as his cheeks flustered before looking down at Aminee on the ground.
"Jeez, Ami. If you love the ground so much why don't you marry it?"
Jokes. It was okay to joke again, to laugh. She had underestimated its power before. Never again. Aminee looked up to the sky to notice something and so did the boy. Utena would be the last of the three to notice it before a flash of crimson light ended it.
"Whatever it was I think it just stopped."

Chloe turned her sights off of Argus and back up to Sparda. Unfortunately he has reached a distance where even her advanced eye-sight was unable to follow. It was killing her that all she could do was stand there waiting and hoping that the only one among them closest to being able to do anything would come out of this all right. When she saw the flash of light she brought her hands up to her mouth and gasped. They were saved from certain death for a second time but where was the Dark Knight?

Aminee stuck her tongue out at Utena before looking back at the boy. His question was a good one, she has been in Isafaro, Moon Valley and Jherrazad and there was something big always going down in all three of them. Isafaro had a civil war, Jherrazad was under new management while trying to hold back forces that wanted to use the Downward Spiral for evil and Moon Valley had natural and supernatural forces trying to make it their bitch. It was ridiculous. Approaching the boy, Aminee smiled and asked, "What's your name?" in an attempt to strike up conversation to get their minds off the impending doom that was finally behind them.

"H-Huh? Oh! M'name's Rowen! And you two are Aminee and Utena." He smiled in turn, grabbed his staff and hopped to his feet. The crystal's light dimmed after he tapped the butt against the cracked cement thrice. "It's a pleasure meeting you two, and I thank the Light I was able to save yo-." The crimson flash of light caught his attention, but only momentarily since he didn't know of the details. There was always something bright or flashy during fights such as these around these parts. It...made little sense to him and he came from a place that was always bright. "...right. Are any of you injured? I can also ease away any body aches if you have them."

"I'll go find him!"
With the use of his telekinetic powers, Argus flew up and began the search for the Knight. He was so far away from them, so if he was alive, he'd have to get up close to even spot him. |

Argus would not have to fly far.
As the great pulse of red light subsided, lingering unnaturally in the sky, the hybrid would see a minuscule black dot above him. He ascended slowly, soon realising this distant object was falling, and it would grow in size until the shapes of furled wings and a curved sword became discernible...
Very much alive, Sparda was diving towards him.
The two soon passed each other in mid-air - and Argus, fast as his reflexes were, would be able to catch a glimpse of the rather amused smile on the demon's face as he rocketed past. The Dark Knight curled his wings closer to his body, spilling even more air as he plummeted from low orbit, his demonic form smoking visibly due to the damage he'd sustained in blocking and eventually redirecting the massive Omega Beam.
Just as he was about to crash to the ground, the demon turned to place his feet downwards first and quickly unfurled his wings one pair at a time, catching more and more air to slow himself before he hit the ground, cratering the concrete and throwing up a low cloud of dust.
His body visibly badly charred in places, but already beginning to heal, the Dark Knight slowly straightened up, letting his wings relax and furl themselves. He turned to the other survivors, pleased that they were safe and sound, and walked towards them, his cloven hooves echoing in the relative silence. These gave way to the duller falls of human feet as a red mist veiled the demon's body for a moment, his true form seeming to peel away as it dispersed to return Sparda to his human guise.
"Well, Argus was a tad late to the party," he spoke up casually. |

Utena opened her mouth about to question how he knew their names but then she recalled all that screaming and hollering they did over such a short amount of time and just closed her mouth. Through a quick examination Utena could tell that she was just fine and didn't require any healing on her own body which was a miracle in and of itself considering how much of a beat down she took at the hands of Darkseid before all of this escalated.
"Just a few scrapes and bruises. Nothing that requires healing."
Even though he knew her name already she decided to still give a more proper introduction.
"I'm Utena Tenjou. Thanks again for all your help."

Chloe shielded her face with her arms when the cloud of dust shot up. By the time the Dark Knight was human again Chloe slid down the crater caused by his landing and punched him in the chest. Well, it was more of a light tap than anything else as she was glad to see Sparda was still in one piece. "Don't ever scare me like that again." The vampiress turned around and walked up the crater to now face the little girl who had the plan for closing the rift in the first place. "Thank you for your help. Do you have a name?"

"Aminee Starlight. It's a pleasure to meet you." She shook his hand and smiled when he offered more aid. "Thank you but you've already cured all that needed to be cure." Her attention would then go to the loud crash that came from Sparda's landing up ahead. Running onto the scene, the Pop Idol would soon come to a screeching halt as her eyes went wide at the sight of Sparda in all his demonic glory. Everything else would go black as Aminee fainted, body falling limp as she fell backward into the ground. Thud!

Sincara brought the six-shooter over her shoulder and allowed it to fall back into the holster before readjusting her hat. Once addressed her brown eyes looked up to the new Empress of Jherrazad staring at her with a look of contempt before parting her lips:
"Sincara."
There was nothing more to be said, nothing more to be done. Chloe's friend in violet didn't seem to recognize her yet and Sincara didn't plan to stick around long enough to give him the chance to. Moon Valley would have a lot of rebuilding to do and Sincara still had an Arashi to track down. At the tip of her hat Sincara bid them farewell and started off for the borders of Moon Valley.

"Don't blame me for not being told of what was going down. I had to watch the goddamned news to find out!" Argus snapped, "No one ever tells me anything, and ya'll wonder why I'm always 'late'." It was strange for him to lose his temper in this manner, especially over a trivial statement. "Day is saved," he twirled his finger around, "Whoop-de-fucking-shit. I'll be at the castle." Argus didn't bother waiting around for small talk, and teleported away.

"Well, it was a pleasure. I couldn't let you guys get torn apart by a rift...ehehe..." Rowen smiled sheepishly, and the tint in his cheeks hadn't faded since. Just as he started thinking about what he was going to do next, a loud crash made him sprint to the scene behind the Pop Idol. What was going on now? Had that thing with the red eyes returned to further terrorize them? Fortunately, it was something else and not what he expected. The sight of the Dark Knight--holy shit THE Dark Knight!--made his jaw drop and he didn't pay attention to poor Aminee falling to the ground.
"S-Sparda?! I haven't seen you since I was ten!" After his outburst, he was brought back to reality and took note of Aminee. What happened to her this time? The teenager sighed, knelt down and plucked a vial of smelling salts from another pouch, "Mother was wondering about you as was Jenna. Why'd you disappear for so long?" While waiting for a response, he unstoppered the vial and wafted the scent towards Aminee's nostrils to hopefully wake her up. |

Utena's attention also went to the crash as she followed after Aminee only to watch her fall to the ground. She was quick to grab her from behind and gently lay her out on the ground so she wouldn't hurt herself now that she laid there unconscious. At least now she could get some much needed rest but what in the world caused her to faint like that? Utena didn't have to wait long for the answer as when she looked up she saw the demon that Aminee saw in the midst of his transformation back into a human and started at him wide-eyed while Rowen came on the scene to help wake Starlight up.
Still in shock, Utena managed to get up to her feet and realize that Rowen somehow knew this person too. She looked to Sparda, then to Rowen, then back to Sparda and then back to Rowen again. Her eyes went over to Chloe, the only person there still in a conscious state that she could trust would be able to give her answers while Utena pointed an index finger at Sparda.
"What the hell is that!?"
