Theory time: maybe Fukari is dead and Maricul or something took her place to make it look like the Nightmare no longer works, leading the others to believe that Amoura was successful in destroying the Arashi so that they won't use it against her when she invades.

That's a good theory actually. I too think Fukari's latest post ties in with Mission Statement but if your theory is correct then let us not overlook the small detail of Fukari coming into contact with Kasul, which for anyone else would have suffered the ill-effects of their life essence beginning to be drained away.

Until we see an actual explanation from the story itself I'm just going to say a wizard did it.

Except there are civilians at the scene already affected by the Nightmare so that plan wouldn't really work.

As opposed to quite literally doing the impossible to keep herself in the game? I don't see how Chloe can get back into this after having her strongest trump card just tossed aside like that.

Well, what else was she supposed to do? Die? As opposed to quite literally doing the impossible to keep herself in the game? I don't see how Chloe can get back into this after having her strongest trump card just tossed aside like that. Both moves were cheap, sorry to say. Removing all five senses; sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch, meaning that you couldn't even at the very least feel anything? So you wouldn't know if you were moving or standing still making retreat impossible. If that your idea of a trump card I don't want to stick around for when you guys get desperate...

We came to an agreement before the thread began on what would be going over the top. So neither move is cheap.

The Waking Nightmare is more or less a reality bender that also attacks the mind, isn't it?

From what I can understand of the Nightmare it manipulates the target(s) perception of reality and isn't limited to any specific function indicating that if it has a limit it would simply be the user's imagination. If it just manipulated reality itself then anyone in the area would be able to see its effects but there has been several incidents in the past where the Nightmare was selective in who could see it.
