Few battles he had seen had been as utterly confusing as this one, and his progress destroying the suppressor generators had been tedious without the bulk of his peerlessly destructive power at his disposal, but Sparda was very much glad to see the final machine destroyed and to feel his full power surge back into his body, rejuvenating the ancient demon.
It was time to bring the curtain down on this havoc.
With the tide turned against them, what remained of the horde of demons turned tail and scattered, routed by the terrifying display of power brought to bear by the city's defenders. They would not get far; for as they fled, scores of their number were assaulted by their own shadows, great skeletal hands reaching up to shred their bodies, flay their feeble flesh, and rend their very souls from their bodies as offerings to the master of this sinister power.
Orchstrating this wonderful slaughter, Sparda strode casually out onto the plains surrounding Hallowton, Revelation held loosely in his hand as he whistled a merry tune.
"Don't you just love armies of fodder?" he muttered flippantly to himself, looking around as the invaders were massacred by the dozen, their souls enslaved as part of his growing force of familiars. "So fun to watch them run for their lives..."
Soon, every last deserter had been caught and slaughtered by his malevolent vampiric power. The stench of death permeated the air, rising from the hundreds of mangled corpses. Even by his standards, it was quite the gruesome sight.
"Amoura!" he called out, glancing over his shoulder at the mockingly angelic figure of his friend's demon form. "Care to help me clean this up...?"

"I'm afraid this won't be clean." Amoura clapped her hands together, "This is going to be messy. Best watch out." There weren't many left but the invitation was sent for her to polish this mess off. Again, somehow, she knew what to do. The only sound that greeted her ears were the frantic heartbeats of the demons that were still alive. The patterns were sporadic, everywhere and overwhelming.
Then, simultaneously, they ceased to beat then burst in their ribcages. They clawed at their chests, opened their mouths to take in air and collapsed as blood dribbled out.
---
"Chl--" Argus blinked in surprise at the vampiress' sudden display of rage and raw power against their enemies. The hybrid snickered, lowered his hands and the telekinetic shield dropped to let the other creatures make their attacks. Bullets hailed out, his clawed gauntlet tore into bodies and he did just about anything else he could to contribute to the slaughter. In less than a minute, their foes will be vanquished.
---
They were safe. Thank all the powers that be. Michael breathed a sigh of relief and made a slashing motion in front of his chest to signal the other vampires on the scene. They cocked their guns and split up in search of any invaders that may still live.
"Something tells me the townsfolk won't be too happy about this..."
---
With a final crush of a heart, the last had been taken care of and Amoura quickly descended. The threat was now annihilated and she already felt fatigued as he Devil Trigger rapidly faded. The moment her feet touched the ground, she had reverted to her vampiric form. In the face of all this chaos, she saw the damage that had been done. The city was badly damaged and so many lives had been lost because of a hunter's desire to get rid of her.
"There's just no escaping this, is there?"
If becoming The End wasn't a threat, then this was. A sense of deja vu washed through due to a choice she knew had to be made for sake of her friends and what was left of this place: she had to leave. First, this mess had to be dealt with before her conscience could be clear enough to carry out this difficult choice.
Amoura waved at Sparda and Argus, "Let's starts absorbing these bodies. We've got a lot of repairing to do."

“It’s not your fault.”
Sazan flew down next to Amoura and looked at her. She didn’t have to be a telepath or even an empath to guess what she was thinking, how she was feeling. The Hybrid has been around The Night Angel long enough to make a calculated guess at these things and she wasn’t about to let the woman blame herself for matters beyond her control.
“Look at me.”
Sazan made sure Amoura’s eyes were on her before she continued:
“It’s not your fault.”

It was over. It was finally over. There was just one problem, Chloe's hunger. In this state her blood drive was greater than it ever could be in any other state, it was the only thing she cared about in this form. Other things didn't even register with her mind when she got this way. And the blood she did get just wasn't enough to satisfy her. She found herself eying the innocent survivors, her comrades, Argus. Chloe knew it was wrong but she wanted to bathe in his blood and then move on all the others. "Argus!" Chloe held her hands to her head, trying to fight off all the urges that was burning away at her. "Help me! You have no idea how much I want to-" Chloe couldn't bring herself to say it. Not out loud. Chloe would hope Argus would have the answer either in blood packs, or a fist to the face.

Amoura's eyes locked onto Sazan's while she tried to convince her that it wasn't her fault. Her emotions stated that it had to have been but her mind was quick to work: logically, it wasn't. The Night Angel had no idea Bane would come and didn't expect an army of demons to storm the city and cause so much destruction.
It didn't change the cold truth of her becoming a danger just in presence alone.
"I know, Sazan. I know..." Amoura walked past her friend, "We've got a mess to clean up. Let's go." ---
The scent of Argus' blood permeated through the air shortly after he bit into his wrist. The packets he had on his person were all but destroyed from the demons–this was the only option to keep her from sinking into bloodlust.
"Drink. You already have the Nightmare so it won't make it worse. Trust me, draining me dry won't kill me."
Argus held his bloody wrist near her mouth.

A rational Chloe would have told Argus no, she would have told him how long it's been since she drank from the vein and that doing so now may send her over the edge, but rational Chloe wasn't home right now. All she saw was the blood dripping from his wrist, that was the only thing registering in the vampiress mind but the already opened wound wasn't good enough for Chloe. Seconds later she found herself grabbing Argus and pulling him towards her abruptly, sinking her fangs into his neck to open up a wound all her own and began the process of draining him.
She couldn't have stopped even if she wanted to. Chloe hopped her legs up, wrapping them around Argus' waist as her arms held him in place with such force it would have crushed an ordinary man. The hybrid's past poured its way into the depths of Chloe's mind as she saw the Prince of Darkness Mundus, as she saw the likes of Darsha and Raiza. Veran. It wasn't just as simple as watching his memories, she felt like she was reliving it with him. Every key moment, every challenge that has ever came his way for the past several centuries. All his pain and anguish. All his sorrow and even the rare good times. An ungodly amount of strength flowing through her like a great river when his blood mixed with hers.
His blood was divine, everything she had ever expected it to be and more. Addicting. How she has ever worked up the strength now to latch on him before this night she would never know. Chloe felt closer to Argus than she ever thought physically possible, witnessing his strength and weaknesses in only a matter of seconds, she had forgotten how good it was from a physical living being. There was so much power, so much knowledge, and it was all hers to wield for she would claim it to the very last drop. A moment she hoped never came. Chloe was content on drowning in the hybrid's blood for all eternity so when the last drop of blood entered her lips, and her feet came back onto the ground and arms unfolded to allow the body to fall limp, Chloe felt a sense of unfulfillment. Like she could have consumed so much more.
Chloe felt unstoppable before, now she couldn't even begin to comprehend how she felt after drinking such a powerful being's blood. She felt intoxicated and like someone had knocked the winds out of her sails, staggering about Hallowton without a clue and the next thing she knew, a warm still beating human heart was in her hand and being crushed from within her palm with as much effort as a shrug being put into it. Chloe wouldn't even hear the screams to follow.

Everything happened so fast, it was hard for even her to keep up and she had superhuman speed and agility on her side. Eventually the invading force was taken out one by one and it appeared all would be well with the world, until the sick sound of a heart being torn out of somebody's chest reached the superhuman ears of the caped wonder. Her eyes turning red due to the Heat Vision and anger boiling from within as she saw the sight of one of the others ally attack a citizen for no reason. Without thinking Superwoman was quick to fly down to the ground and punch Chloe in the face, the punch holding more than enough force to knock her through the air and break her nose in the process.

Dorian moved threw the street, avoiding the mutilated bodies and keeping an eye out in case any more of the hell spawn where still lurking around. But he was not expecting to see a young woman holding a human heart as he turned onto the next street. A scene he was slightly too used to, but it was still unnerving. At a second glance, her aura became visible to him, revealing her to be a vampire and in a state of blood frenzy. A troublesome turn of events in any situation, but now of all times, it just seems to be the icing on the cake.
Before he could even act, a blur of movement caught the corner of his eye and slammed into the the young woman. The blur, as it made contact, became clear that it was a woman with red eyes. Dorian knew without a doubt that she was angry. But he wouldn't allow the young vampire to killed for actions she couldn't control, even ones as horrific as the ones she preformed before his eyes.
With one quick mental snap, Dorian let loose his power. And seemingly out nowhere a line of men appear in front of the angry woman, making a human barrier between the two and preventing her from advancing.
"I will handle this." Dorian shouts as he appears from the shadows and stands facing the other vampire.

Sazan opened her mouth to say something else but it was halted by the sight of Chloe holding a human heart in her hand and crushing it in her palm. Argus was on the ground unconscious after being bled dry and the red caped crusader was flying to Chloe's position with every intent to take her out for the murder she just witnessed. In the aftermath of chaos, was more chaos. None of them could ever catch a breather even for half a second.
“Guys, look!” called Sazan to get the others attention towards what was going on further down the road. Sazan rushed to the scene yelling, “Stay away from her!”
The Witch vanished then reappeared behind Chloe to grab her.
“Chloe! Chloe, snap out of it please!”

The caped vigilante's punch would not meet its mark. Between her and Chloe, a large rectangular barrier of magical energy flashed into life, presenting a wall which even the superhuman's mighty blow would not break; in fact, as soon as she struck it, it would magnify and reflect the strike's kinetic energy right back at her in the form of a focused shockwave.
Having brought this barrier into being, Sparda ran into the fray behind Sazan, glaring at the caped girl.
"I take it you've never seen a vampire lose control," he barked at her, his bellowing voice demanding authority. "Back off. We'll handle this."

Argus had expected this. During his first months of learning the ways of a Nosferatu, he often drained Raiza dry after being commanded to drink from her vein--she was fortunate to be capable of revivement through transfusion. The roles had been reversed when they encountered Alucard when Raiza attacked him. It was after that unpleasant situation did he realize that being bled out won't kill him, and thus, knew all would be fine if Chloe did that to him.
It didn't change the fact that it was painful as hell.
Argus gritted his teeth, his canines elongated and fell back with Chloe still drinking from him. Her voracious appetite had left him unconscious--he didn't know of the affect his blood was now having on Chloe.
--- Purple light streaked through the air and before Superwoman could get close to everyone trying to get to the out of controlled vampiress, a magic barrier had sprung in her path. Fortunately for the caped crusader, the structure was flexible so if she were to collide with it, there will be no injury and she'll simply sink into it before being gently pushed back.
"Give the girl some credit. She's never seen this sort of thing before and is only trying to do what she thinks will help."
Michael snapped his fingers and sparks flew from his fingers. The Crow hadn't used his magics with the group before, having preferred to use his weapons in the past, but this called for it. A foreign language spilled from his tongue, his fingers moved in fluid motions as if though weaving something and when the final word was uttered, Chloe was trapped in a purple, transparent box.
"We need to have her calm down before doing anything else. Once the bloodlust takes its course she'll come to her senses." Michael frowned, "And no doubt see what she had done to Argus."
"I have him." Amoura held her doppelganger in her arms and quickly moved past everyone to return to the somewhat demolished house. The blood packets should still be there and Argus will regain consciousnesses within a day or so if she hurries.

Superwoman pulled back her fist and stopped it when she saw the line of men now blocking her path from Chloe and the cries of Dorian telling her he would handle this. Kara only backed away and surveyed the situation as now all of a sudden people were starting to turn on her. Sazan appearing out of nowhere to calm Chloe down and an angry Sparda telling her off. Michael was the only one defending her thus far. How could any of them defend Chloe? How could any make excuses for someone who took a life at the drop of a hat? It didn't make any sense to her.
Superwoman tilted her head when Michael put Chloe into a box. "How you do that?" Kara would never be able to hear her answer because as soon as she asked that the cries of a weeping woman snatched her attention away from the others. Her eyes fell upon the woman, holding onto the dead man not wanting to let go. Superwoman's heart sank as she approached the woman, kneeling down next to her and wanting to get her out of here before anything else happened but she refused to let go of the man. "Come on." "No!" "Come on, please." "No! That's my husband!" Superwoman grabbed her gently and began to lead her away, allowing her to rage and cry onto her shoulder as they walked. Kara couldn't bring herself to look back at the group. She couldn't stomach looking at the one responsible for this woman's pain. Superwoman could only imagine how the victim felt.

"Wh-what's going on?" Chloe looked around, the sounds of a woman screaming attracted her attention to the caped female who tried to attack just only a couple of minutes ago. The vampiress realized that she was currently standing in a transparent purple box crafted by Michael. "Where's Argus?" Chloe had a very vague recollection of the recent events that had transpired after drinking from the blood of her friend but the moment she came to, the feeling that Dianne told her you feel from the other person after drinking from them wasn't there. It only meant two things; death or unconsciousness. Chloe naturally assumed the worst the moment her eyes spotted Argus being carried away from the scene by Amoura. Running forward she was knocked back by the box as she could only watch Argus fading away in the distance. "Get me out of here. Michael, get me out of here I have to see if he's ok!"

Sazan looked towards the now widowed woman being carried off by Superwoman with great sympathy for her lost. The Hybrid knew what it was like to lose a loved one but she had no idea what it was like to lose a husband, to lose a soul mate so suddenly and at the hand of a monster. She looked over to Michael, guessing he already knew what she was thinking and Sazan never wanted to know how painful that type of lost would be. Her eyes returned to Chloe, who was trying to break out of the trap Michael had put her in to get to Argus.
“Calm down! Argus will be fine.”
The realization of what happened was certainly going to hit Chloe hard and the last thing that needed to happen was for her to be mobile while that was happening. The Hybrid’s eyes went over to the one man in the party that none of them found familiar, Dorian, and she approached him.
“Who are you?”

"A' walk away from all o' this fer five minutes and this is what 'appens?" One of the final demons was thrown past the group and it skidded across the ground in its final moment of life. Rogue never thought she'd had to kill but these things weren't human nor mutant. "Everyone okay?" What a mess. Rogue had seen her fair share of gruesome battles during her life while fighting for humans and mutants alike but it was never like this. If there was ever a time for the rest of the X-Men to be here, it would be now.
"A'ight, I hope I don't sound too demandin'..." She planted her hands on her hips quirked her brow, "But could someone tell me what the Sam Hill just 'appened? Or better yet, why ma home planet blew into smithereens?"
