No, it's not fair to blame the american people. Large scale companies are lobbying for this bill to be passed through. It'd allow companies to block websites deemed dangerous due to suspicions of piracy and redistribution of licensed material. If you're lucky. I first heard about this from Doug Walker of thatguywiththeglasses.com and have seen a lot of people oppose to this bill. It was expected to be passed just this past Friday but was denied however it's not over yet. The votes are going to resume I guess this Wednesday.

Something like this wouldn't just affect our site, it could affect all of ProBoards and a lot of other websites currently available.

Well it's certainly not contributing.

What they need to do with this "Protect IP Act" is redefine it to where it's not so vague but the way they have it now Warner Bros. could basically issue a court order to have this site shut down because I have a BtVS image in my avatar. Or they would get ProBoards shut down because I have a BtVS image in my avatar. That's not going to stop online piracy.
