Zora didn't have enough time to turn and instead pulled back on the rope to force the pony to a quick stop. The pony rose up on its back legs and Zora fell off the back and onto her own backside against the dirt road.
“Ow!”
Zora began to slowly get back up to her feet as she looked over to where Gabrielle was.

Gabrielle got off her horse and walked over to Zora's side as she was returning to her feet. "Mind telling me what that was all about?"

"Mind telling me what that was all about?"
Zora looked up at Gabrielle, straight in her eyes and struggled to come up with a line to explain her reasons for running off like that. But as luck would have it she wouldn't have to as her eyes wandered pass Gabrielle and to the large black castle over yonder where people on broomsticks flew around over the top of it.
“We're here! This has to be it!”
Zora motioned over to the castle for Gabrielle to see and then ran off for the castle grounds before Gabrielle could get another word in.

Gabrielle sighed, turning around and following Zora over to the grounds of the castle. Her head tilting back, and eyes looking up at the wizards and witches flying on their broomsticks before looking back down to Zora herself. She still thought the whole "witches on broomsticks" thing was too cliche to be real but that was really neither here nor there at the moment. "Zora, I get the feeling you're hiding something from me."

"Zora, I get the feeling you're hiding something from me."
“What gave you that idea?” asked Zora as she turned around to face Gabrielle with the best innocent smile she could muster.

Gabrielle crossed her arms in front of her chest and gave Zora a knowing glance, not about to let her run away from whatever it was she were currently running from. It was obviously something important with how she's been acting so far. "Zora, you can tell me. I won't be mad."

"Zora, you can tell me. I won't be mad."
Zora didn't need to look back into Gabrielle's eyes to know she was giving her “the stare.” The knowing parental stare that saw through all of your clever little lies and demanded the truth be told, or they'd keep boring themselves into you until you talked. Zora had grown to hate that stare over time it was almost as bad as the stare her own father gave her when he was crossed with her.
“That's what you say, but your eyes tell me different. Your eyes say you will be angry, and I don't want you to be...”
