Praise to Jehova [Chapter XVII]

It was as beautiful now as it has ever been.

Sir Jeho walked along the dirt road of Aircano, heading directly for the holy temple that overshadowed the rest of the city and glowed from the dual lights of the suns above. Little did the citizens of Aircano know that God himself now walked among them as he was over ten thousand years ago, the appearance that was lost in history after he ascended to godhood and took on a new appearance, a more godly appearance.

He stopped before the bottom step of the staircase that led up to the entrance of the temple and simply stared upon the golden cross design above the entrance remembering all of the things that has transpired in the past ten thousand years, some he was proud of and others not so much, as he waited for the one child that has stuck by him through it all.

"Excuse me, sir."

Miracle walked up behind the man and looked him over. By his clothes alone he matched many of the people here but the High Priestess has never seen this man here before which made her wonder if he was a wanderer from another continent. She hoped that was the case as she wasn't sure if she could hold back the others if he turned out to be from another world altogether. But what they didn't know wouldn't hurt them.

"The church is opened if you want to go inside."

Jeho smiled down at the High Priestess and took her by the hand.

"I would like that."

He walked up the steps with her hand in hand, passing through the entrance of the holy temple and then taking in the wonders of the sanctuary. Despite everything that has happened in the past year Miracle, Solomon and the majority of the people born in Aircano faith has never wavered and it showed in the great care they showed the temple even now.

"It's beautiful, Miracle."

"It's beautiful, Miracle."

Miracle looked up at the man confused when he said her name. The High Priestess knew full well she has yet to introduce herself to the stranger so how did he know it? Or has her name truly become legendary during her time away from Genesis?

"Pardon me, but I do not recall giving you my name."

"I have always known you, Miracle."

Jeho removed his hand from the High Priestess and took a couple of steps forward before turning around to face her once more.

"Don't tell me you don't recognize me, you who has carried out my will and praised my name like no other."

A faint holy glow began to surround his body and a soft hymn could be heard soon after as he revealed himself before his child.

"I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. I Am."

[Miracle]

Miracle was silent, observing this man who declared himself God before her and in the holy temple of all places. She had not talked to God until the days before the First Aspect appeared before mortals for the first time and destroyed Crystal City before the original Aircano itself was rebuilt. If this was a mortal man calling himself God then it was blasphemy that must be punished by death or else she risked losing her home again to the Arashi and that was something her heart couldn't bare a third time. But what if it was God? What if He really was standing before her? The High Priestess decided to play it safe for now.

"Many people can cast a glow around their bodies and perform a soft hymn. How do I know that you are not the devil trying to deceive me?"

Jeho lifted up his hand and lighting fell from the heavens and struck the top of the holy temple. Soon after that the ground started to shake and his voice boomed across the halls and hallow floor as he spoke.

"Can he bring forth lighting from the sky? Can he make the ground below his feet tremble? Can he declare 'I am the LORD!' and make all who hear him quake as the fear of God enters their hearts?"

The ground stopped shaking as Jeho lowered his right arm and the glow plus the hymn both ceased as he stepped forward towards Miracle.

"Need I prove myself further?"

Miracle jumped and covered her ears when the lighting struck from the sky and released a yelp when the ground began to tremble. The High Priestess fell to her knees and quickly begged for mercy from the man standing across from her as she crawled to his feet.

"Forgive me, Lord! I should have known it was you I-I've been so confused. You haven't spoken to me in so long."

She began to weep upon his feet.

"I'm sorry!"

Jeho rested a hand upon the child's head and then smiled down towards her.

"Rise, my child. Through the Lord's grace you have been forgiven."

Jeho waited for Miracle to stand up to her feet before continuing.

"It is good to be cautious for there are many false gods and prophets who fill Jherra with lies. One of them a former hero of Genesis the one they call Superwoman has declared herself the god of Jherra. This cannot be allowed to stand. Prepare the people, today we march to eradicate this false god and all who worship her!"

[Miracle]

"What?"

Miracle looked up to Jeho in surprise when he mentioned how Superwoman has declared herself a god. The High Priestess knew that she had somehow managed to return from the grave but how does one make the complete jump to godhood? What happened here during her time away?

"Why? Why would she make such a declaration?"

"Does it really matter?"

Jeho headed over to the altar and looked up to the drawings of his son upon that cross, the night he died for all of mortality's sin. So said the Lord.

"What she does is an unholy thing. Putting herself in the shoes of God and then her followers worshiping her like she is the one and only. They must be dealt with at once!"

[Miracle]

"Making such a declaration is uncharacteristic of the woman in question, my Lord. Is it not right to investigate the cause further?"

The High Priestess meant no disrespect, that much was certain in the fear of her eyes as the last thing she wanted to do was anger the Lord now that he had finally revealed himself in her presence. But she couldn't help but be curious as to why Superwoman would declare such a thing as godhood.

"Perhaps if we show them that you are the one true god the people that follow her will turn to you, and there will be no need for bloodshed."

"There will be bloodshed regardless, this I know."

He stated plainly, having remembered the child's dislike towards spilling blood but her loyalty to her god truly knew no bounds. Had she been anyone else Jeho would have reprimanded her for questioning his decision.

"Very well. We shall give them a chance to repent but if they refuse then they too will be struck down in the name of the Lord!"

"There will be bloodshed regardless, this I know."

Miracle closed her eyes in a futile attempt to conceal the tears. If it wasn't for the Lord's strength she would have caved underneath the pressure of all this war a long time ago. She didn't even want to think about what she would have done without him. At least now she just didn't have his voice back, she had him before her in the flesh.

"Where is Superwoman now?"

"Jherrazad preparing for the Demon World's assault."

He may not have been a god anymore but Jeho was still good at tracking people down. It helped that he had followers spread out through Jherra whose minds he could tap into through his magic.

"We will intercept and show everyone who the real savior of Genesis is. Take out two birds with one stone."
